[Reimu Hakurei Cosplay] Touhou Project: Azure Spirit Dream as azure waits for the misty rain

Preparing for this Azure Spirit Dream cosplay shoot took a considerable amount of time. The hardest parts of this outfit were the massive blue-and-white ribbon headpiece and the ruffles along the skirt; to achieve the right drape, the fabric and lace had to be carefully structured and shaped. The prop was a long woven piece that needed to be wrapped bit by bit, requiring quite a bit of manual craftsmanship, but I finally managed to finish it just in time for the shoot. For the makeup, to capture a doll-like porcelain texture, I blended pink-toned eyeshadow over a wide area, paired with brown circle lenses and false eyelashes to enlarge the eyes. The front bangs were trimmed repeatedly until they brushed just over the eyebrows without feeling overly heavy. I deliberately wore white tights for this shoot to enhance the lines of my legs while maintaining harmony with the overall blue-and-white palette. The photography set matched the serene mood of 'azure waits for the misty rain,' utilizing wooden sliding doors, a red background wall, and yellow paper lanterns to immediately bring out an authentic Japanese atmosphere. During the shoot, I sat on a wooden platform with my legs naturally extended forward, using the camera angle to highlight the layered volume of the skirt. The second close-up shot was meant to showcase the details of the makeup and the headpiece. The visual effect of long legs with white tights turned out great, though the full costume was actually quite heavy and the skirt restricted movement, requiring short breaks between takes. Despite the hard work, the final photos turned out wonderfully, perfectly presenting the textures of the fabric and the color coordination.
