When shooting this Dorothy set, I was actually quite nervous because the original design is incredibly rich in details; from the pink long hair to the lace and tulle all over the body, every single part needs a precise recreation. The wig is a specially customized gradient pink, and I repeatedly adjusted the curve of the hair ends for a long time just to barely capture her kind of lazy yet somewhat cool temperament. The bead strings and hollow-out designs on the costume really test how neatly it is worn, especially the lace trim at the waist and cuffs; even a slight mess would ruin the overall ethereal feel. For props, I chose a white umbrella and a feather fan. These two items can both add narrative to the frame and assist with the composition; for instance, when sitting on a white sofa holding the umbrella, it can perfectly balance the visual center of gravity. The natural light on the day of the shoot was very soft, pouring in through the French windows, beautifully highlighting the translucent texture of the white tulle skirt and white stockings. Although some people said it wasn't shot well, perhaps feeling that some angles weren't sharp enough, I think the softness and ethereal sense conveyed by this set align with my subjective understanding of the character Dorothy. After all, cosplay itself is a form of creation, and everyone sees a different facet of the character. I deliberately tried different postures; the standing pose with the umbrella looks upright and elegant, while the sitting pose adds a touch of lazy atmosphere, maximizing the visual effect of the color contrast between the white background and pink hair. For post-processing, I didn't add too many filters, only wanting to preserve the most authentic colors and the subtle shimmer of the clothes themselves. Many small details of this costume, such as the butterfly decoration on the side of the leg and the chains on the hands, are well-reflected in the actual shoot. I hope those who see these photos can feel my dedication during the preparation process.
