Bringing this 'Farewell to the Dream of the Other Shore' traditional style cosplay to life took roughly half a month from ideation to final execution. When first conceiving this Wuthering Waves cosplay derivative design, what captivated me most was the timeless collision of crimson and pure white, accented by that narrative-rich splash of mint-green hair. To craft that aloof yet bittersweet, fragile ambiance, we poured immense care into hair and makeup styling.

The wig was selected in a matte-finish mint green with gentle curls at the ends, hand-braided into two low-slung plaits. Crimson Spider Lily blooms and butterfly ornaments were woven into the braids, while the ornate crown atop was composed entirely of scarlet blossoms and golden tassels. This headpiece carried considerable heft, requiring a multitude of bobby pins anchored into my natural hair. The white lace blindfold across the eyes served as the very soul of the look; once worn, peripheral vision was partially blocked, leaving only the ground visible. This naturally caused balance challenges during posing, requiring constant vocal guidance from the photographer to correct my stance and gaze alignment.

For the wardrobe, the inner layer featured a high-saturation scarlet chest-high slip dress, enveloped by an outer wide-sleeved robe of sheer white gossamer. The golden metallic waist ornament gleamed brilliantly, chiming crisply in motion alongside multiple crimson ribbons and beaded chains. The outer white chiffon was printed with subtle dark-red ink-wash patterns, avoiding plain monochrome flatness while harmonizing with the overarching Spider Lily motif. Crimson cords and butterfly ties wrapped around the legs added design nuance, paired with a barefoot styling that infused casual, languid ease into the frame.

Set decoration utilized abundant white flowering boughs and calligraphy canvas drapes, styled with a wooden Go board, stone bowls, and unfurled scroll paintings. The most arresting prop was the cluster of Spider Lily blooms. For maximum visual richness, we sourced dozens of artificial red spider lilies—some arranged in black ceramic vases, others strewn across the game board and timber floor. Posing proved to be the most rigorous challenge: due to the tailored silhouette and high-slit drape, sitting demanded vigilance against accidental exposure while sustaining an elongated, fluid posture. In the reclining pose across the daybed, conveying that melancholic mystique required resting my chin gently against my palm, casting a soft de-focused gaze toward the lens, and naturally crossing bent legs to flatter leg lines while keeping arms and shoulders taut to avoid looking slack.

Furthermore, the lighting setup was meticulously crafted. To showcase the sheer floatiness of the white chiffon and luminous skin texture, the photographer relied heavily on backlighting and soft diffusion. Against the white blossoms and calligraphy scrolls, key light hitting the sheer robe cast a soft, ethereal luminescence. Engaging my core and abdominal muscles to support my torso allowed a slight chin tuck to define facial contours cleanly. Though holding heavy wigs and styling pieces while blindfolded was physically taxing, seeing the final chromatic punch of crimson and white bathed in quiet sorrow made every effort worthwhile. This Hanfu photography Fan Content Festival entry was a truly unique creative endeavor, not just in wardrobe design, but in capturing pure atmospheric resonance.
