The holographic laser props arranged at the ChinaJoy Sony booth reflected stunning patterns of light and shadow, providing a fantastic backdrop for this shoot. Today's ensemble blended gothic and punk elements, grounded primarily in black with purple accents as a quintessential Lolita outfit. To complement this styling, I wore long black curly twin tails with blunt straight bangs, topped with a purple lace hair accessory. The makeup emphasized reddish-brown eyeshadow and defined eyeliner paired with lustrous red lips; lighting across the convention floor was complex, and this bold makeup helped sculpt facial contours three-dimensionally under the intense spotlights.
The garment's design details are remarkably intricate. The upper body features a black halter-neck corset crafted with a glossy faux-leather sheen. Purple ruffles trim the neckline and bust, centered with a pink ribbon bow. The waist is cinched by a black leather belt with metal buckles over sheer black mesh, spliced with blue-and-purple plaid fabric along the flanks. The lower half consists of a tiered puff mini skirt: an outer shell of black lace edged with golden embroidery over an iridescent blue-purple lining, bordered with black satin ribbon trim. For accessories, I wore long black leather gloves studded with metal chains and rivets, revealing plaid lining at the cuffs. My legs were styled with black Fishnet stockings, a leg garter, and chunky-soled black Mary Janes. While visually striking, the leather fabrics offered low breathability, requiring timely breaks to cool down during the shoot.
While shooting before the booth, the photographer explored diverse angles to avoid specular glares caused by the reflective backdrop. To freeze dynamic motion, I tried a variety of poses. In the first shot, lifting a hand to adjust my hair accessory showcased the chain detailing along the glove; in the second, raising both arms to grasp the hanging fabric overhead opened up the torso silhouette; in the third, waving both hands outward projected an engaging, friendly rapport. The one-legged jumping pose carried the strongest visual power—it allowed the tiered skirt to flare open fully while displaying leg contours and the texture of the Fishnet stockings, requiring tight core engagement to balance. A low crouching pose tested flexibility, requiring subtle shifts in center of gravity to look effortless rather than rigid.
Finding a spot with an ideal backdrop and ample illumination is never easy in an expo environment, so whenever stepping before the lens, I fully channeled my energy to ensure my expressions and gestures matched this Sweet and cool style. During breaks, chatting with nearby photographers about lighting setups led to fresh ideas for candid shooting in bustling convention halls. Though extended standing and high-intensity posing brought noticeable fatigue, the finished visual texture met all expectations, and the outfit's commanding presence on site was immensely gratifying.
