This red and white Lolita dress outfit based on Flandre Scarlet achieved a brand-new visual expression in this indoor dark setting.

This time, I chose a makeup and styling approach that leaned towards a "doll-like feel." After putting on the blonde curly wig, I specially emphasized a translucent white skin tone and paired it with her highly recognizable red eyes. The main costume is a red and white layered ruffled dress, paired with white lace socks, red platform Mary Janes, and this massive ruffled bonnet; every detail faithfully reproduces the character's core features.

A lot of thought also went into the scene arrangement. The studio was decorated with purple-black gauze curtains, vintage wooden chairs, a black iron birdcage, and white Roman pillars. White candles and colorful polyhedral crystal pendants were scattered in the corners, which, complemented by the iron chains, shrouded the entire atmosphere in a mysterious dark fairy tale feel. Holding a brown teddy bear or a red apple in my hand added a touch of gap moe to the otherwise cool or mysterious undertone, which also fits the work's inherent texture of blending fantasy with a slightly bizarre, grotesque charm.

During the shooting process, I paid close attention to the layering of the skirt hem and the folds of the fabric. Because the red and white costume has many layers coupled with the ruffled design, it is very easy to crush or wrinkle the skirt hem if one is not careful with sitting or squatting postures. In the set where I held the apple, I tried to empty my expression, carrying a slightly dazed yet dangerous aura, which formed a subtle contrast with the soft, well-behaved innocence shown while hugging the teddy bear.

To capture the best images, I communicated with the photographer about lighting angles throughout the entire session. We abandoned high-contrast hard lights and instead used a very soft lighting method to eliminate excessive shadows on the face, which maximized the reproduction of that reality-detached doll-like texture. For the movements shot in the indoor studio, whether sitting on the chair hugging the plushie or trying a low-angle composition sitting on the floor, the goal was to convey the character's trait of looking sweet and obedient on the outside while actually carrying a hint of mysterious, fantastical aura on the inside.

Although indoor studio shoots shield you from the wind and sun, managing tedious props and maintaining specific sitting postures is actually quite a test of physical stamina. However, when seeing the photos in the camera display exquisite quality, retro style, and rich narrative one by one, this challenge completely transforms into pure enjoyment. This pure experience of constructing a fantasy world is also the part I enjoy most when doing cosplay. Nothing is more interesting than turning a static frame into a moment with a sense of life. The venue props and final photos this time greatly exceeded expectations, and I hope to let everyone see the different possibilities within this character.
