[Fantasy style cosplay] ChinaJoy Zhuoer Booth Shoot Log: Ethereal pink and purple tulle styling in Convention photography

Our shoot at the ChinaJoy Zhuoer Booth wrapped up successfully, and the collaboration went so smoothly that I wanted to dive straight into discussing this look and our on-site shooting details. Because this costume has such a pronounced stylistic character, significant thought went into the hair and makeup during pre-production. The garment features remarkably rich layering: the core is an airy, ethereal tulle in shades of magenta, pink, and purple, with the bodice and waistline heavily pieced together with three-dimensional textures resembling flower petals and seashell grains, interwoven with pearl strands and cascading metallic chains. To keep the look visually balanced without feeling cluttered, my hair was styled in long straight black locks with partial updos, complemented by an intricate red-and-gold headpiece reminiscent of coral and floral foliage, achieving unified visual cohesion in this Fantasy style cosplay.

For makeup, to echo the pink and purple tulle styling, the eye makeup utilized deep blending in pinkish-red shades, with elongated outer corners and lengthened lashes to soften my gaze. A red floral forehead mark (huadian) was placed right between my brows. The base makeup pursued a cool-toned, porcelain translucency, paired with a jelly-like glossy red lip tint to cultivate an alluring ambiance where fantasy whimsy intertwines with delicate refinement.

The set design at the Zhuoer Booth was a tremendous asset. The background featured an enormous concentric circle geometric motif, where alternating stripes of black, orange, and white delivered striking visual punch, flanked by a massive circular gear-textured installation emitting teal-and-cyan luminescence around its circumference. This high-contrast cyberpunk edge clashed with the soft, sheer drape of my tulle gown to create a captivating contrast of aesthetics. When refining poses on site, the seated posture in shot one was aimed at highlighting the natural fall of the skirt hem and a serene, quiet disposition; resting folded hands naturally prevented obscuring the intricate waistline tailoring. The reach-out pose in shot three was something I specifically coordinated with the photographer; extending the hand forward heightened visual tension across the composition while clearly displaying the lines of my arm and delicate hand details during this Convention photography.

Attending a massive expo like ChinaJoy makes stamina and physical condition management paramount. Even though this outfit appears celestial and weightless, the accessories and chains are quite hefty; prolonged seated posing easily stiffens the shoulders, so during intermissions between takes, I made sure to roll my neck and stretch my shoulders to keep muscles relaxed. Furthermore, because the background installations had built-in luminous lighting effects, spatial lighting demands were strict, requiring constant micro-adjustments of my facial angle to prevent harsh glares from disrupting skin texture. The finished photos' chiaroscuro texture genuinely met every expectation—the sheer tulle looked mesmerizingly luminous under the ambient light, leaving me thoroughly thrilled with the outcome. Moving forward, I will continue exploring different stylistic costumes and creative concepts in Convention photography!
