[Elysia Cosplay] Pink Elf Under Night Cherry Blossoms: Stunning Moments from Honkai Impact 3rd

This Night cherry blossom location photoshoot was actually wrapped up in a very tight timeframe. The sky had already turned pitch black, and we relied entirely on handheld LED light sticks for illumination. While the atmosphere felt exceptionally pure, lighting was certainly a small challenge for us. You usually see finished official shoots, but today I'm sharing a few behind-the-scenes snapshots from the process. The only reason I kept these BTS photos is because our photographer and retoucher made my facial features look so lovely in editing—the gaze and expressions surpassed expectations, so it felt like a waste not to share them separately.

When portraying Elysia, I paid special attention to expressing her demeanor alongside outfit and styling choices. Long pink straight hair paired with pointed elf ears brings an airy elegance inherent to the Honkai Impact 3rd universe. The white and purple color-blocked outfit worn tonight demanded high precision in tailoring and fabric. The skirt train and side purple gauze streamers easily tangled in the nighttime breeze, and shooting outdoors on wood-chip ground meant being extra careful to keep the hem clean and ribbons flowing nicely. To facilitate pose recreating, we used a black folding stool, allowing my posture to relax naturally and project her confident, playful Anime girl charm.

Regarding physical posture control, there were many fine details during the shoot. For instance, the long staff prop adorned with bells and metallic wing ornaments carried exceptionally long trailing ribbons that easily dragged in dust or dominated the visual frame. To prevent prop streamers from shifting the center of gravity, I deliberately adjusted the angle of my crossed legs in my seat, complementing the pale purple ribbon bows on the boots to extend visual focus from legs to chest and onto prop details. Balancing atop the folding stool required steady control, maintaining natural facial expressions while managing wind blowing my wig and accessories around.

I must give huge praise to our retouching teammate. In night Cosplay photography, bright LED lighting often leads to heavy specular reflection or overexposure on white fabrics, while the subtle pinkish-purple tones of cherry blossoms easily get washed out or color-shifted under harsh contrast. When editing these BTS shots, our retoucher selectively darkened highlights, separated purple and white layers, and beautifully preserved depth of field between blossom branches and the dark night sky. This fused the subject's soft glowing texture seamlessly into nightfall with clear dimensionality. Facial light transitions were carefully rebalanced, keeping eye highlights alive and vibrant.

In Cosplay photography, what we pursue goes beyond surface aesthetics to personifying a character's vibe. Looking closely at my styling, you'll spot how snugly the elf ears blend with hair ornaments, along with golden metallic coating along outfit armor edges—details that bring me closer to the character. Though these are behind-the-scenes photos, the photographer brought clever ideas to framing, capturing both close-up portraits and wide shots encompassing cherry blossoms and large props under limited night lighting.
