This time, for the first day of the CICF Guangzhou Comic Convention, I cosplayed Kasugano Sora from Yosuga no Sora, wearing a self-styled Rojita outfit. From the initial selection of items to color matching adjustments, and down to the detailed arrangement of hair accessories and bowties, a lot of thought went into styling to fit Sora's cool yet soft temperament.

In this outfit, I overall chose a relatively light and transparent white and light grey color scheme. The overlay of two different fabrics makes the layering of the skirt hem look very natural. The black ribbon at the neckline with a pearl-framed buckle perfectly echoes the black and white bows on my head, preventing the look from appearing too cluttered visually. The platinum blonde long hair is also a key point of the styling; paired with her iconic side ponytail, the dynamic feel becomes very evident under the light.

I have to say that the lighting captured by photographer Chao-ge this time was a huge plus for this look. During the shoot, we happened to catch strong natural light streaming diagonally through the venue's large windows. That backlight combined with the reflection from the floor made the light tulle texture of the clothes show through completely. Especially under the strong light, the inherent transparency of the fabric was expressed to its fullest, with just the right atmosphere and softness. That grey little rabbit prop was also specially sourced; its size and material make it perfect for hand interactions. Holding it, whether producing front or side view photos, makes the overall mood more relaxed and natural.

The venue was actually quite crowded, and the background could easily get cluttered at times. However, choosing this translucent spot by the window, combined with the light color palette, instead gave the frame a sense of breathing room. To capture the feeling of Sora, the most important thing is to grasp that slight sense of aloofness and girlhood. Appropriate body movements, such as looking down at the rabbit or slightly tilting the head, make it easier to convey the character's unique traits than looking directly at the camera. The final convention photos definitely exceeded expectations. Being able to recreate a 2D setting in a real-world scene and record this lightweight feeling through light and shadow made for a very happy convention experience.
