[Sunohara Shun Cosplay] Tranquility in Small Form: Blue Archive Hangzhou Only Live

Completing the photoshoot for Shun (Small) at the Blue Archive Hangzhou Only was the culmination of long preparation, finally bringing every detail and expression of this look to life before the camera.

To recreate this character who balances a chibi-like vibe with a calm demeanor, I put a lot of work into the makeup beforehand. The green contact lenses maintained high clarity and transparency even under bright convention lights, which, combined with long black straight hair tied into pigtails and black beast-ear hair accessories accented with stars on top, instantly brought the character concept to life. Costume-wise, I chose a modified short black cheongsam; white trim at the collar and cuffs added depth to the dark outfit, while the green leaf-shaped embroidered emblem on the chest looked distinct under the cold convention lighting. The high-slit design paired with white over-the-knee socks beautifully elongated body proportions, and the white sneakers with black color-blocking on my feet balanced the character's blend of youthful charm and tactical elements.

The equipment and props for this shoot were quite heavy, especially the massive black hard storage case on my back. To keep the case fitting comfortably against my back while maintaining clean visual lines, specific standing postures and balance control were required. The black-and-white long rifle held in the third photo was another key prop for on-site presentation; finished with a special coating, its edges looked exceptionally crisp under intense LED light box fill-in, faithfully capturing a cold, sci-fi metallic feel.

The venue's environment contributed greatly to the Cosplay photography results. Structural steel pillars on both sides of the hall and irregular overhead light patterns lent an inherently cool-toned, high-tech, modern feel. A set of massive vertical LED light boxes provided excellent continuous illumination, yielding uniform lighting across my face, where cold-warm contrasts left ample room for post-processing color grading. Photographer ppp was extremely professional—guiding prop placements from the start, offering tips on angles to avoid visible sock creases, and pacing emotional expression throughout a seamless collaboration.

Pose-wise, the hands-on-hips standing posture in Photo 2 fit the character's vigilant yet confident aura perfectly, with a slightly upward gaze matching her expression. The hand-to-forehead shielding pose in Photo 1 demonstrated arm lines while maximizing compositional tension. Holding the rifle in Photo 3 accommodated prop display, anchoring the weapon's center of gravity right at the center of the frame.

Given the heavy foot traffic, finding clean angles while avoiding cluttered background elements was tricky. We deliberately utilized shallow depth of field at telephoto focal lengths during shooting, nicely softening occasional background photographers and attendees so focus stayed squarely on the character. The white platform provided a clean base for composition, giving my shoes a clear landing point to make the standing posture look even taller and straighter.

Reviewing the shots after wrapping up, the venue selection and staging at Hangzhou Only proved wonderfully suited for this mix of sci-fi and academy aesthetic. The costume material itself was crisp and structured without unnecessary fabric layering, relying instead on tailored cuts, color contrast, and detailed paneling for effect. Capturing Shun (Small)'s signature features and gear alongside cool-toned hall lighting made for a fantastic recreation attempt. Overall, whether in the precision of the equipment or the atmospheric lighting, this set captures the original setting faithfully as a project reflecting my personal interpretation of the character.
