This photoshoot features a duo cosplay of Yukina Minato and Lisa Imai from BanG Dream! Roselia, with the post theme reflecting a wish upon a shooting star for a forever happy tomorrow for Yukina x Lisa. Through this indoor studio session, we hoped to capture their emotional bond of mutual support and reliance.
My partner and I had been planning this Yukina x Lisa CP shoot for a long time, and we finally made it happen. I played Lisa Imai, while my partner cosplayed Yukina Minato. To recreate their iconic stage presence, we custom-styled the wigs: Lisa's orange-red side braid and Yukina's pale purple straight hair complimented each other beautifully in visual tone. For makeup, I chose a matte base paired with fresh peach eyeshadow, while my partner used cooler tones to match Yukina's aloof charm. Paired with light-colored contacts, the gaze felt deeply piercing, with detailed eye makeup and false eyelashes carefully refined.
Costume-wise, Lisa wore her iconic off-shoulder cream-white vertical-stripe knit dress paired with a black belt and long black rabbit necklace, balancing casual character design with refined detail. Yukina wore a white ruffled shirt with a black pleated skirt, completed with black tights and platform loafers—a classic black-and-white pairing that highlights Roselia's signature aesthetic. We captured numerous close-ups, including black tights paired with loafers and a black cloth rose hair scrunchie on the wrist—crucial detail props for overall cosplay completion that showcase off-stage casual styling.
We picked an indoor studio with soft lighting, featuring white European cabinet decorations and herringbone wood floors, perfectly aligning with Roselia's slightly aristocratic setting. The photographer guided atmosphere-rich interactions, such as covering faces with drawn kaomoji expressions—a cute Japanese aesthetic touch. Hand-in-hand angles featuring matching black platform loafers emphasized strong CP chemistry. In particular, our full-body embrace photo paired with a character beast-ear illustration in the lower left created a wonderful crossover feel between manga and reality, making it a piece we are thoroughly pleased with.
Cosplay goes far beyond wearing costumes and wigs—it involves understanding deep character bonds. Yukina's guitar and Lisa's bass intersperse throughout Roselia's music, mirroring our intertwined hair strands during the shoot. Though in a fixed studio setup, we put deliberate effort into body language, such as shoulder-embracing and hand-holding, to recreate their organic tacit understanding. To achieve ideal sample shots, we spent hours refining details from wig styling to belt adjustments.
Regarding focal lengths, we mostly utilized mid-telephoto lenses. For instance, the close-up of intertwined hair strands captured long silver bar earrings and nose accent details beautifully. Close-ups maximize visual intimacy, allowing viewers to feel the close distance between characters. For the composite lower-body composition, the photographer used a slight high-angle shot to highlight lines of tights and platform loafers, conveying a relaxed, easygoing vibe.
This shoot deepened my understanding of this pair. Within the band they are most trusted partners, while in private life they are close friends sharing inner thoughts. I hope this work conveys the warm, steadfast bond between Yukina x Lisa. The final result matched expectations with a soft color temperature that created strong atmospheric presence. That wraps up our shoot log for Yukina Minato and Lisa Imai—looking forward to sharing more dedicated works in the future!
