This finished photo set of Luo Tianyi's Chinese VTuber bridal gown is finally ready to share with everyone. From initial preparations to the final makeup test, this ensemble went through quite a long journey—I wanted to deliver even more delightful details visually. To achieve an effect that best captures the character, we dedicated considerable effort to textile selection: the layered drape of the skirt utilized chiffons and laces of varying stiffness to balance the substantial weight of a wedding gown with the airy lightness of the 2D aesthetic. For the soft blue gradient sections of the gown, we specifically sourced matching gossamer fabric that reveals gorgeous tonal gradations under the sunlight.
The shoot took place before a European building infused with Gothic elements, where arches and intricate carvings naturally imparted a solemn and sacred ambiance that resonated seamlessly with the bridal theme. The structure's dark-grey stone brick masonry served as an ideal contrast, setting off the pristine white gown into sharp, luminous relief. For the wig, I carefully thinned and layered the ash-brown blunt bangs and long twin-tails, adding blue-and-white ribbon bows to faithfully recreate the pure, innocent charm unique to the virtual diva. In terms of makeup, the focus rested on the eye styling and blush; pinkish contact lenses paired with softly smudged eyeshadow lent a delicate, tender vulnerability while giving my gaze greater emotional intensity before the lens.
On the day of the shoot, the sunlight was radiant. Soft rim light grazed the pure white hemline and veil, crowning the contours with a gentle halo; the moment in photo 1 where the skirt catches the breeze was truly my favorite candid dynamic capture. The outfit is packed with intricate elements: the mandarin standing collar, ruffled shoulder trims, and long train all required continuous smoothing and adjustment whether walking or sitting. For the seated pose on the stairs in photo 3, I deliberately draped the lace bridal veil over my head and tilted my chin upward slightly, seeking to evoke a quiet interplay of tranquility and sanctity. The white rose bridal bouquet accented with long flowing ribbons was chosen to introduce visual extension and breathing room to the frame. The paired white lace-trimmed over-the-knee Stockings and platform heels not only flattered the leg contours and lengthened visual proportions, but also injected a touch of playful sensuality into the sacred aura.
In my physical performance, I avoided forced or exaggerated poses, relying instead on nuances in my gaze and subtle body language to communicate emotion. How I cradled the bouquet or tucked my hair came forth organically throughout the session. For color grading in post-production, I prioritized retaining the organic texture of natural daylight rather than over-cranking contrast, guiding the overall palette toward soft, luminous warmth. From early fitting sessions and makeup locks to on-set framing and lighting capture, every phase underwent meticulous refinement. Compared to earlier attempts, this series places greater emphasis on harmonious overall atmosphere. Through these photographs, I hope to convey the sweetness and serene reassurance that belongs to a bridal promise. Heartfelt thanks to the photographer's patient captures and our backstage assistants. I truly hope this creative endeavor showcases a more versatile and multi-dimensional Luo Tianyi to you all.
