The convention photos from the Jiangmen Jieyuan Season anime convention are finally organized! This time, I cosplayed Denia from Wuthering Waves—specifically what everyone commonly refers to as her second form.
This glossy blue dress looked wonderful under the on-site lighting. The star emblem on the chest and the large white bow featuring a ruby accent served as the visual focal point of the look; paired with delicate gold chains, the layered depth instantly came alive. The wig was a long wavy style in pale white tinted with soft blue-purple tones, and I specifically adjusted the hair accessories to capture that airy, refined grace. The blue-and-white color-blocked long gloves and the blue stockings with a water-ripple pattern were distinct highlights of the outfit—especially the color-blocked gloves, which beautifully elongated arm lines while posing.
When shooting this photo set, I experimented with several different poses. The first few featured gazing upward with closed eyes and intimate close-ups to convey the character's calm, composed aura. The seated shot on the floor was actually taken in a stairwell landing, using the light filtering through the glass railing for a natural ambient transition. My absolute favorite is the final dynamic full-body capture with one leg raised; this pose simultaneously showcases the flowing folds of the skirt hem, the texture of the blue stockings, and the fine gold buckle details on the shoes.
Because it was on-site at an anime convention, the indoor ambient lighting was rather complex. After discussing with the photographer, we primarily used flash lighting to underexpose and suppress the cluttered background, allowing the cool-toned costume and hair color to pop vividly in the frame. Cosplaying all day at an anime convention is undeniably exhausting—keeping makeup and hair intact for hours—but the completion level of this Denia Cosplay felt very satisfying, and the entire convention photo experience was truly enjoyable.
