[Tsukatsuki Rio cosplay] Blue Archive at Comicup 32: A wonderful crossover with Hatsune Miku merchandise

Appearing as Tsukatsuki Rio at Comicup 32 and standing in front of the Hatsune Miku merchandise booth was an interesting crossover experience in itself. This slightly academic black suit jacket paired with a white turtleneck top, alongside the striking red-and-black halo headpiece, drew a lot of attention at the venue. Even as I looked at the cute Hatsune Miku merch in front of the booth, I felt that the character design matched the vibe of this outfit surprisingly well.

Speaking of the overall outfit for Comicup 32, I needed to balance character recognizability with the comfort required for standing long hours at an anime convention. Tsukatsuki Rio originally has very distinct color characteristics and a neat uniform look in her design. Therefore, when carrying out this cosplay plan, I specifically chose a structured black suit jacket paired with a pure white turtleneck base top. This minimal black-and-white contrast highlights the character's overall aura nicely and makes the iconic headpiece—with its thin black ring and red accents—visually stand out even more. For the bottom, I wore a standard black pleated skirt paired with well-fitting black semi-sheer stockings and platform shiny loafers. This outfit guaranteed easy mobility around the hall while maintaining a style that felt natural and daily yet retained a sharp, cool sharpness, thanks to the skirt length and stocking material.

What was particularly fun this time was that the convention environment was right in the official Moeyu merchandise Hatsune Miku booth area. All kinds of Hatsune Miku merch, especially the "mini-cape" blind box plushies, were simply impossible to look away from. Neatly stacked light teal boxes filled the display tables, and holding the actual plushies—which featured hooded capes of different colors and a solid feel—made me want to cuddle them and take photos in front of the lens. Standing in this brightly colored exhibit zone, surrounded by the bustling crowds at Comicup 32, a passionate, vibrant atmosphere unique to anime fan gatherings washed over me.

In fact, every time I shoot outdoors or attend a convention, in addition to meticulously preparing the character's styling and costume, the ambient atmosphere is also a key factor in achieving a perfect shot. On the booth tables, there were not only cape plushies, but also slender chibi charms, exquisite badge blind boxes, and carefully placed stained-glass style decorations. Incorporating these elements into the camera frame not only enriched the depth of field in the photos but also gave the shared content a more authentic feel of actually "browsing the convention." At the same time, some thought went into the details of the outfit, such as the silver hairpin clipped to one side of the bangs and the small black bag accenting the waist. These subtle accessories did a great job of brightening up the overall look, avoiding the monotony and dullness of a monochrome black-and-white scheme.

The on-site experience at conventions is always a blend of exhaustion and satisfaction. Walking through the venue dressed as Tsukatsuki Rio, being recognized by fellow fans from time to time and asked for photos—this joy of character recognition is precisely what keeps cosplay so captivating for me. Standing in front of the Hatsune Miku merch booth and personally experiencing these finely crafted official items gave me an even deeper connection to the IP itself. Although the venue's crowd, temperature, and lighting posed challenges for photography, seeing the lens capture a satisfying character state made all the fatigue completely worth it.

Presenting this Tsukatsuki Rio cosplay at Comicup 32 was not just a complete character portrayal for me, but also a lucky experience to share the frame with Hatsune Miku merchandise. Thanks to the deep blending of the setting and merch elements, the final photos turned out with a great sense of mood and storytelling. Staying dedicated to faithfully reproducing the original design, while remaining committed to finding interactive scenes at conventions that enhance authenticity, has always been my shooting philosophy.
