What was shot this time is Arturia from Arknights. The overall costume chose a white and black spliced long dress. To restore the design, the sleeves were made into a puff sleeve design, coupled with semi-transparent cascading sheer sleeves, and white long gloves were matched on the arms. There are dark embroidery and collar ornaments on the chest, while the skirt hem adopts a split design of black inside and white outside, and white platform high heels are worn on the feet. The black spiky halo headpiece on top of the head is the focal point of the entire styling. To make its floating sensation stronger in the photos, we repeatedly adjusted the fixation and angles for a long time, both ensuring it wouldn't easily fall off and making the spikes' orientation match the visual effect. The hair used black straight long hair with straight bangs, and the hair texture was combed very smoothly. The makeup focus was placed on a slightly pale base makeup matched with reddish-brown eyeshadow and red lips, wanting to highlight a cold and oppressive temperament.
To match the overall visual, the scene arrangement used a large area of pure red curtains as the background. The high saturation of red has very high requirements for lighting, and a slight deviation in lighting easily makes the picture look cluttered or the skin tone reddish. We arranged main light sources in front and to the sides of the subject to brighten the white dress and face, while retaining the shadow layers on the right side and the dark parts of the skirt hem, making the three-dimensional sense stronger. Picture frames of different materials and styles were scattered in the background, including simple black frames and gorgeous picture frames with gold carvings, plus white Roman pillars, increasing the depth of field and classical elements of the picture. This superposition of multiple elements is a great test for compositional balance, not allowing the background to overshadow the main subject while ensuring sufficient details in the picture.
The arrangement of the foreground also took quite a bit of thought. A tilted white hollow geometric structure was placed on the left side, looking like a collapsed building model, increasing the sense of imbalance and tension in the picture. On the right side is a huge white international chess piece, resembling a bishop or queen, with the subject stepping on the square base, allowing the center of gravity of the entire composition to stabilize. Black semi-transparent sheer drapery hangs down from the upper left, breaking the monotony of the red curtain and adding some bizarre atmosphere, while these cascading lines play a role in guiding the vision.
In terms of body language, I didn't choose regular standing or sitting quietly, but half-leaning, with arms spread to both sides and palms slightly open. This posture tests body balance quite a bit, especially when wearing platform high heels, requiring core exertion to maintain stability. When arms are slightly open, the lines of the white gloves and sheer sleeves will naturally cascade down, forming a response with the black and white contrast of the skirt hem. The gaze's landing point also tried a few directions, and finally settled on a slightly upward-looking angle, matching the overall scene to convey a sense of control and detachment.
Reviewing the photos, the strong collision of the three colors of red, black, and white brought a very good visual impact. The texture of the costume was displayed under strong light, and the interaction between the character and the picture frames behind and the chess pieces in front also gave the picture a sense of story. The entire shooting process repeatedly experimented with lighting and composition, from light testing to adjusting postures, with every step trying to ensure the completeness of details. The final presented effect achieved the expected dramatic sense, making it a very dedicated shooting experience.
