Today, I want to talk about this Malymoon gingham cat set. Cutting straight to the point: the overall design of this dress features a blue-and-white check pattern, blending classic elements of a Maid outfit and Lolita with an abundance of lace trim, ruffles, and puff sleeves. A black bow accents the neckline, complemented by a lace headpiece shaped with cat ears. The brown twintail curls were styled specifically to match the sweet aesthetic of the costume. On my legs are white stockings, creating an overall look that is clean and refreshing.

The shooting location was a vintage-styled kitchen area. It featured an outward-opening casement window, with grey-blue cabinets and a white ceramic sink beneath the sill. To add rich layering to the frame, I arranged plenty of colorful florals across the windowsill and inside the sink, including yellow daisies, pink roses, and purple accent flowers, alongside woven wicker flower baskets. Wooden shelves above were also decorated with tulips, cacti, and various potted greens.

Regarding photography techniques, we mainly used a 50mm prime lens with the aperture set around f/1.8, using the foreground flowers for depth of field blur to create a dreamy framing composition. Lighting relied entirely on afternoon natural light; the side-backlight streaming through the window illuminated the delicate lace textures, while a reflector filled in facial shadows to keep facial details sharp and clear.

For posing, the first shot shows me leaning against the windowsill, looking out the window with one hand lightly resting on the frame to create an effortless sense of interaction. In the second shot, I perched halfway onto the sill, supporting myself with both hands on the ledge and glancing to the side—an angle that highlights the skirt's pleats and the white stockings wonderfully. The third shot is a full side-sitting pose on the sill with legs crossed and eyes closed in rest, evoking a serene and quiet mood.

To be honest, I'm very happy with how the photos turned out; the blue-and-white palette looks extraordinarily crisp under bright light. However, wearing and taking care of this outfit is truly exhausting. To maintain the skirt's puffy silhouette, wearing a petticoat underneath is a must, which makes moving around quite inconvenient. Furthermore, the lace is very delicate and snags easily; it requires hand-washing after every wear and extra care when air-drying. On top of that, maintaining poses and expressions on a narrow windowsill throughout the shoot drained a massive amount of physical energy. Since I rarely wear this set and it just sits idle in my wardrobe, I'd rather pass it on to someone who can make better use of it. The garment is in great condition with no noticeable flaws, and all accessories are complete. I hope it finds someone who genuinely loves this design to take it home.
