The main star of this beach night view shoot is Furina from Genshin Impact, and the outfit chosen is this headcanon / original setting called "Lily of the Valley Dance." Compared to her classic courtroom attire in the game, the design of this dress leans more towards a fairy-tale and lightweight feel. The blue-and-white gradient tulle skirt, paired with off-the-shoulder ruffle sleeves and an exquisite metallic rhinestone crown, presents a very unique layered texture under the faint light. The highlights in the wig were also specially tailored to fit the "sea" theme; those upturned strands in the air are actually highly recognizable under the night lights.
The shooting location was chosen at a rocky coast with bioluminescent algae, commonly known as a "Blue Tears" formation area. To complement this dreamy blue palette, the shoot was scheduled for a pitch-black midnight with absolutely no moonlight, allowing the ambient light to turn completely dark and highlight the faint blue fluorescence left behind after the waves crash against the rocks. The glowing splashes you see are actually natural bioluminescence triggered by the movement of the seawater, which relies heavily on the camera's long exposure and aperture control.
During the actual shoot, because the rocks were extremely slippery, standing or sitting in high heels while adjusting my center of gravity was quite a test. This was especially true for those frozen actions in the photos where I needed to lift the glowing prop—I had to prevent the skirt from getting too soaked by seawater while keeping my facial expression relaxed. The tiny glowing prop in my hand isn't just a simple decoration; it serves as a facial fill light in the pitch-black environment, giving the coser's gaze a sharper focus. The photographer, Junze, is exceptionally skilled at utilizing this cool-toned ambient light during composition, beautifully outlining the character's silhouette and the flowing skirt in the dark. This includes the photo of the sitting posture, where the skirt behind is completely spread out over the black rocks, resembling a mermaid's tail extending into the deep sea. This type of night view cosplay portrait places high demands on early preparation and on-site coordination, but when the final results came out, seeing the lightweight feel of this "Lily of the Valley Dance" blend together with the dreaminess of the Blue Tears made everything feel completely worth it.
