A couple of days ago, on a whim, my close friend and I headed to a local selfie studio, planning to shoot the solo photos for this character with long straight black hair. After entering the studio, I first quickly arranged the costume. This outfit's main color scheme is a black and white patchwork, with the white parts made of a relatively stiff fabric so the creases look clean and sharp when draping naturally. The purple bow at the neckline serves as an embellishment, creating a wonderful color echo with the purple diamond pattern on the black tights on the lower half. For the makeup, I went with a cooler, paler tone, which, along with the blue contact lenses, fits the character's cool and detached vibe better. The lines at the outer corners of the eyes were slightly elongated, and paired with the trimmed straight bangs and a slim black headband, the overall visual focus was beautifully concentrated on the facial area.

Since it was shot in a selfie studio, the lighting and timing were relatively flexible. For this cosplay photoshoot, we opted for high-key lighting, paired with a background of white Roman columns and scattered white and purple flower strings, making the overall atmosphere very clean and bright. Photo 1 shows the state right after sitting down in the studio, with a more relaxed posture of resting my chin on one hand, mainly to showcase the silhouette and details of the entire costume. Photo 3 is the one I chose as the cover, specifically aiming the muzzle of the prop handgun directly at the camera while keeping my wrist steady to prevent it from shifting from the line of sight. This composition with strong perspective beautifully conveys the character's focus and sharpness. Photo 2 is a collaborative shot where I asked my friend to join the frame; a hand wearing a white glove pinches my chin, creating an interactive atmosphere with a sense of scrutiny and obedience, which also serves as a little setup for the Homura-Madoka duo photos I plan to post later.

Although a selfie studio offers high freedom, the scenes and lighting rely entirely on self-exploration. Especially with this bright white high-key set, it's easy to overexpose if not controlled well, so we spent quite a while adjusting the light metering. Fortunately, the final photos turned out great. The photos taken in this scene barely require major post-processing edits; it's mostly just doing some contrast and color fine-tuning to maintain a clear and transparent look for the photos. After finishing the whole set, though repeatedly adjusting movements and expressions was indeed a bit tiring, being able to accurately reproduce the character's aura of obsession made looking at the satisfying photos afterward very rewarding. That's it for recording the solo part this time. Next time I have time, I'll organize and share the duo interactive part.
