This time I'm bringing you a photoshoot of Keqing from Genshin Impact. This set was put together quite hurriedly without overly tedious preparations, focusing on going with the flow. Lately, losing three 50/50 pities in a row in the game felt completely disheartening, so cosplaying this character became the perfect way to find a bit of emotional solace.
Let's talk about this costume. The primary tone is a blend of purple and white, complemented by light blue ribbon decorations, with deep purple tassel ties at the collar adding rich layering. The wig is the soul of this look—a high-luster twin-tail with a light purple to ice blue gradient. The golden cat-ear shaped hairpieces on top adorned with small white flowers deliver both the cute Anime girl charm of animal ears and a natural fit for her overall demeanor. The detached sleeves and trailing ribbons on the arms are great bonuses in the wind, making those floating skirt and ribbon moments key to fantastic shots. The dark purple gloves and opaque Black stockings cosplay elements harmonize naturally with the fantasy style, with no boots details left behind.
The location chosen for the shoot was a woodland filled with purple flowers and lilac bushes, serving as a natural color-matched backdrop for this Cosplay location shoot. The natural light was extremely soft, which, paired with wide-aperture bokeh, lent a dreamy, hazy texture to the imagery. To complement this setting, I intentionally leaned the color grading toward cooler purple tones in post-processing, reducing the yellow and green hues of daylight to align the overall palette more closely with Keqing's visual identity.
For the pose design in the photos, we drew inspiration from her swordsmanship. To be honest, holding that greatsword prop felt quite heavy; the crossguard design was intricate, featuring deep purple wing shapes centered with a cyan-blue gem and packed with detail. We shot several dynamic moves like sword swings and turns, as well as poses with one leg raised high and holding the sword overhead. The mid-air single-leg jump shot in particular relied heavily on balance and a fast shutter speed to capture the dynamic arcs of the skirt and hair—fortunately, the greatsword's metallic texture showed up wonderfully under the light.
Doing a Cosplay location shoot is never as simple as clicking a mouse in-game; conveying the Yuheng's composed and dignified aura before the lens posed quite a test for expression management. For eye makeup, I deliberately deepened the outer corners and chose reddish-purple contact lenses, hoping to present a sharp yet cute vibe for this Anime girl look. Of course, being a rushed project, there were bound to be minor details that weren't perfect—like stray hairs not being completely tamed during large movements—but the photographer's snapshot timing was fantastic, preserving many lively moments. Thinking of in-game gacha luck and character tropes, this set also felt like a playful rant about bad luck in Genshin Impact. Regardless, being able to wear this costume, hold this sword, and stand in a sea of flowers as Lady Yuheng was a deeply happy experience.
