[Kuromi Serika cosplay] Blue Archive daily life: Having bread in a restaurant

Digging up this set of old photos, it feels fitting to chat about this outfit following the vibe recorded under the title "Cat, you can eat now." Bringing a character into a real restaurant setting often turns out far more natural than imagined.

First, regarding the wig and animal ears. To recreate her black-hair and red-eye features, I selected long straight black hair with straight bangs. Since straight bangs can often look heavy, I specifically trimmed them to have an airy texture, leaving breathable gaps over the forehead so they wouldn't look stiff or clunky under indoor restaurant lighting. The two black Cat ears on top of my head were securely attached with high-strength spring clips so they wouldn't shift easily even when tilting or turning my head. Additionally, two vibrant bright blue ribbons were attached on both sides; these long ribbons served as an essential pop of color amidst the long black hair, acting as the soul accent of the entire look.

As for makeup and contact lenses, the red contact lenses I chose had a larger diameter, making them somewhat difficult to blend naturally into everyday life settings. To prevent them from appearing overly jarring, I emphasized lower eye contours, smudging the lower eyelids with brownish-red eyeshadow to elongate the visual focus of both eyes and soften the impact of the red pupils. For base makeup, I paid special attention to achieving a clean, matte finish. Because restaurants mostly use overhead spotlighting—a light source that easily overexposes highlights—a matte finish looked much smoother under such overhead light than dewy skin.

The wardrobe consisted of this black-and-white color-blocked track jacket with a white-and-black trimmed crewneck T-shirt underneath. The jacket cuffs featured bright blue color-blocking, perfectly echoing the ribbons. The greatest advantage of this Sportswear cosplay style is supreme comfort and mobility. While eating or holding a fork, wide cuffs don't easily brush against food, nor do you constantly worry about garment wrinkles compromising overall refinement.

All photos were captured as candid snapshots. In the first picture, holding up a fork skewering a piece of sliced bread while holding a butter knife in the other hand, I intentionally stared straight into the lens to express a playful gap-moe of seriously contemplating how to dig in. The second photo captured the exact instant of biting into the bread, with the shutter timed perfectly to record the chewing motion. The third picture shows leaning over to look at sashimi sushi inside a glass display case; this high-angle downward perspective cleverly bypassed the cluttered restaurant background while showcasing the Cat ears structure to its fullest extent. During shooting, a ribbon overhead accidentally bumped a nearby object and tilted slightly, but that actually added a touch of genuine spontaneity.

In terms of framing, the restaurant's lighting mostly consisted of warm yellow spotlights with plenty of glass reflections. I deliberately adjusted camera angles, leveraging background wall text and signage to keep the frame from feeling empty. Compared to studio lighting, this realistic restaurant environment inherent to Daily shop exploration brings an authentic grounded warmth, making it much easier to yield satisfying shots.

The entire set didn't undergo complex retouching in post-processing—just simple adjustments to white balance and exposure to faithfully preserve the natural lighting as seen by the naked eye. Integrating cosplay into everyday check-ins was truly a wonderful experience. There is no need to deliberately hunt for a flawless backdrop to force stylized posing; instead, letting the character enjoy a real meal in reality allows one to savor the atmosphere of props interacting with real food. I believe this deeply relaxed, lifestyle-oriented cosplay record offers a warmer interpretation of the character. Merging character details with real-life actions fulfills the purpose of this photo set. This easygoing state of sharing leaves behind an understated yet vivid record for this outfit.
