[Psychologist Cosplay] Identity V \"Evernight\" — Dark Rose Convention Photos

This time at the convention, I shot a set for the \"Psychologist\" Evernight skin from Identity V. The overall look leans heavily into a black-and-red Gothic style, and these are the returned photos from the venue, capturing a mix of dynamic and static moments.

First, let's talk about the hair, makeup, and headpiece. The long, curly white hair is one of the souls of this character. When styling it, we made sure to add volume at the top and sideburns. Paired with the black crown headpiece and the red roses wrapped around it, it beautifully restores the character's melancholic and cool temperament. The eye makeup was a major focus; I applied black teardrop eyeliner details and blended them with the blush to enhance the depth of my facial features. This distinctly dark-style makeup looked extremely photogenic under the venue lights. The veil is made of translucent black lace embellished with quite a few decorative red flowers, providing a lovely sense of dynamic extension as I moved around.

For the outfit, the upper body features a black satin corset with a black piped design on the shoulders and a spliced lace mesh at the chest, which fits snugly without feeling too tight. A black rose choker adorns the neckline, serving as a perfect neck accent that echoes the roses on the headpiece. The sleeves are over-the-elbow black openwork lace sleeves that clearly outline the arms without looking bulky. Below the waist is a multi-layered black short skirt with a ruffled hem, which looks very clean and crisp on its own. The real highlight, however, is the long, black, semi-translucent trailing veil at the back. Although this lightweight mesh train looks stunning, it is very easy to step on or get snagged on other people's backpacks in a crowded exhibition hall. We specially found a relatively empty area for the shoot so the train could be fully spread out.

Perhaps the most unique and personalized part of this look is the lower body styling. The black fishnets are an asymmetrical, torn, battle-damaged style, paired with thigh straps and lace garter rings. Visually, this makes the legs look much longer while adding a touch of rebellion and casual flair. On my feet are a pair of black low-heeled single shoes, which fit the dark-sweet Gothic style perfectly. During the shoot, the photographer had me try several different poses. Some had me looking back at the camera, others holding a red rose and a small silver pendant, and some standing with one leg slightly bent. Each angle projected a slightly different aura. The shot looking back looks very sharp, while the side-standing pose perfectly displays the body lines and clothing layers. I chose the center full-body shot as the cover.

The lighting on the convention day was actually quite complex, with a lot of overhead lights, and the background was filled with walking passersby and tourists. We had to wait for the crowd to disperse slightly during the shoot to get a clean background. The floor was made of greyish-white exhibition tiles with strong reflections, which put high demands on the camera's light metering. However, once the final photos came out, the reflection of the shoes and the train on the floor actually added a touch of theatrical stage presence. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience of cosplaying this set. Since the character in the game has her own unique background story, and the Evernight skin happens to have that gorgeous yet slightly sorrowful dark style, being able to materialize it in a real-world convention setting and capture photos that met my expectations was incredibly rewarding.

Finally, a quick note on the wearing experience of this costume. The corset on the upper body is quite light and breathable. Compared to heavy armor or complex mechanical structures, it was fairly convenient to walk around in at the exhibition. The only thing to be mindful of is the mesh train behind. Though beautiful, you really have to keep an eye on your feet at all times to avoid tripping. This time, I didn't deliberately try to recreate a specific pose from the game; instead, I relied more on the atmosphere of the venue to showcase the character's cool temperament. An interesting detail is that this outfit is actually highly suited for shoots with dark-toned or industrial backgrounds. In an open and bright venue like a convention, it actually creates a powerful visual contrast.
