The core of this look for Konoe lies in the combination of that "Age of Gods" weightiness and agility. To achieve high Character accuracy for her elegant yet slightly majestic temperament, I made many meticulous considerations in makeup and styling. Especially regarding the material selection for this costume, the fluffy texture of the fur collar forms a sharp contrast with the metallic embroidery, which both preserves the classical beauty of the kimono and integrates her unique battleship elements.
During the shooting process, I cared a lot about the utilization of light and shadow. We chose a venue with a traditional Japanese style architectural design, using warm-toned lighting to outline that deep atmosphere, letting the environment itself serve as the character's background. The flow of light and shadow on the fabric is meant precisely to express her restrained and deep nature, echoing the sentiment of "unheard in the shadows." For the makeup, I pursued a cool and sharp gaze, striving to accurately capture that deeply hidden inner strength of the character on camera.
From the details of the headpiece to the direction of the hair strands, every single detail was carefully polished through repeated communication. As a creator pursuing texture, I especially hoped that through this cosplay work, I could truly present that distant and grand artistic conception in the character's heart. This creative process of constantly refining details and searching for the character's soul is truly enjoyable. I hope everyone can feel this cross-temporal quality when viewing the pictures.
