Releasing an official Murasame cosplay photo set from Senren*Banka.

The charm of the character Murasame lies in her being both the sword spirit guarding the sacred blade "Murasamemaru" and a lively, nimble young girl. So when setting the tone for this photoshoot, I wanted to blend this heroic combat spirit with a cozy, gentle everyday feel.

In terms of attire, the outfit selected this time was a modern modified version of traditional Japanese style attire, featuring a black outer garment paired with a purple inner shirt, along with a wide red-orange obi. The sharp color contrast nicely captures Murasame's unique persona blending a shrine maiden and a swordswoman. The wig was also specially trimmed into a fresh light green style with blunt bangs, decorated with purple stars and red cords. There were many intricate details, and putting on the wig took quite a bit of effort.

The shooting location was a Japanese-style photography indoor set; the wooden corridor flooring, tatami mats, paper lanterns, and stone lanterns offered a rich Kyoto old street vibe. In particular, the warm yellow lighting from the paper lanterns infused the whole frame with a soft, delicate texture. During the shoot, the photographer utilized natural light from the window alongside warm indoor lantern light, blending cherry blossoms, sake, and teacups on the table to create a deeply narrative ambiance.

To better restore Murasame's character traits, a black-and-gold katana was prepared as a prop for this shoot. We tried many poses during the session, such as kneeling sideways holding the hilt while looking back, or sitting casually under the corridor holding the sword. Although the katana was heavy, these poses beautifully embodied Murasame's steadfast sense of protective duty as a sword spirit.

My favorite part of this photo set is the snapshots during the play of light and shadow. The warm glow of the paper lanterns hitting my face, paired with pink cherry blossoms, created a stunning ambiance. Since the character design inherently possesses the dual traits of being "cluelessly cute" and "combat-ready," I experimented with expressions ranging from cool and aloof to quiet and serene. The makeup also specifically emphasized red eye-makeup accents to make my gaze appear more vivid and lively. Additionally, the white tabi socks and red-and-white geta sandals strictly followed the character's design, ensuring strict control over all details.

As a cosplayer, being able to bring a beloved character to life brings immense joy. Though Murasame looks like a young girl on the outside, she possesses a resolute heart of protection within; this gap moe made expressing her character thoroughly enjoyable. I hope this photo set allows everyone to see the cute, brave Murasame in my eyes, lost in thought under the cherry blossoms with a cup of sake. This photoshoot also offered a lot of Coser daily life insights and valuable experience, such as interacting better with props and adjusting body language within a compact washitsu space. Lighting angles across every spot were repeatedly fine-tuned.

Due to the outfit and wig, I maintained a relatively quiet and serene state most of the time, though during breaks I quietly took a sip from the prop sake cup (which was actually water!). Although the process was a bit exhausting, seeing the final images made all the preparations completely worth it.

That's all for this Senren*Banka Murasame cosplay photo set. I still have much to learn and improve on the path of character recreation, and I hope to present even more diverse characters and styles through the lens in the future.
