[Sakayori Iroha Cosplay] Techwear Wa-Style Cosplay Outfit Showcase from Cosmic Princess Kaguya!

Putting on this blue-black dominant outfit, adjusting multiple leather belt buckles at the waist, and putting on the purple short wig, the state in front of the mirror was already on point. Acquiring Sakayori Iroha's look this time, compared to other works, this costume features a very interesting fusion of techwear/functional and Japanese wa-style elements, so I decided to put in real effort to shoot it properly.

Upon receiving the costume, the most direct impression was the contrast between blue gradient layers and black leather accessories. Although the oversized water-sleeve design of the top made movement harder, it was extremely photogenic. To adjust the black strap structure around sleeve cuffs and torso, I spent quite some time securing straps and metal buckles in suitable positions so the front would look snug and crisp. The semi-transparent black chiffon hem layered over the blue gradient skirt gave the whole styling breathing room. Belt leather provided solid support, and double-ring metal buckles in front kept the waist looking sharp.

What I really want to share are the fine details of this Cosplay outfit. Fur texture on the headband of the Kemonomimi girl style was great and fluffy. I spent quite some effort fluffing up the arc of purple bangs, as flat bangs against the scalp lose the natural feel of wispy strands. Meanwhile, to match character traits, I specifically tried a red diamond forehead mark and green contact lenses, paired with slightly elongated upturned eyeliner, making makeup appear sharp yet subtly cool and mysterious before the camera. Reddish-brown eyeshadow transitions also prevented eye makeup from getting washed out during editing, preserving physical color accuracy to the greatest extent.

Naturally, the attention-grabbing leg accessories in this look were executed very well this time. A single-leg black fishnet stocking paired with garter leg bands featuring metal buckles provided strong visual impact through this asymmetrical design. To complement this style, I chose patent leather black high-heeled short boots for shoes, unifying overall color tones nicely. Boots paired with straps extended visual leg length while providing solid footing when adjusting standing poses.

Costumes featuring this mix-and-match style with numerous leather straps, metal buckles, and light chiffon pose certain challenges for movement coordination. To shoot this set, I tried various standing poses. For back or side shots, backpack strap tension needed constant monitoring to prevent slippage or sagging. When standing facing forward, shoulders needed to open wide to keep leather shoulder armor looking structured and firm. Throughout shooting, I maintained constant awareness of shoulder and waist posture to ensure black leather belts wouldn't create excess wrinkles breaking original design when bending.

Furthermore, garments of this type require care during daily maintenance. Oversized water sleeves look limp without support, so I usually firm up cuff stiffness slightly. Transparent thin chiffon acts as a finishing touch but snags or catches dust easily; ironing out skirt creases slightly with a steamer prior to shooting ensured a flowing look under lighting. Wigs crushed during transit are common; blowing roots briefly with cold air from a hairdryer increases fluffiness, making top volume look fuller.

For base makeup this time, I selected a matte finish, considering flash photography might create oily glare, while the character's aura doesn't suit an overly dewy, cute finish. Paired with green contact lenses inside a cool-toned lit room, it truly brought out that cool, sleek vibe. Contact lenses and makeup, combined with costume fit, were the core of successful shooting atmosphere.

Though the entire process involved dealing with complex straps and buckles, once fully dressed and fixing my bangs before a full-length mirror, I could genuinely feel the clever design balancing practicality and visual harmony. Fabric tailoring was actually much more comfortable than expected, especially at the neckline where, despite being cut low, collar coverage and shoulder strap tension sharing made it feel comfortable without choking the neck. Animal ears on top were fixed separately, preventing them from flying off during quick turns.

Overall, this was a pure character restoration attempt. Cool color tones, tight leather accessories, punk-style metal rings, and flowing chiffon were elements I focused on expressing for this shoot. While viewers might focus more on character settings and expressions, for cosplayers, behind-the-scenes garment adjustments, accessory selection, and angle choices form the bedrock supporting photo quality. Wearing this outfit truly puts one in character, and I hope everyone feels the dedicated details presented this time.
