The fierce tiger of Mt. Yunkui descended straight to the floor of the iJoy convention today! This time, I cosplayed Ju Fufu from Zenless Zone Zero. A yellow-and-black color-blocked tactical jacket paired with a gray shirt, along with her signature plush animal ears and a fluffy tail, felt very true to the character. For the Cosplay photography, we deliberately chose both a low crouch and a high-angle perspective. The high-angle shot maximized leg lines and overall dynamic tension; black boots paired with white socks and thigh straps created an agile, predatory visual vibe.
There are actually many subtle details on the outfit: the white streamlined patterns on the jacket's sides, the plush trim on the arm armor, and the large dark blue bow at the tip of the tail were all adjusted by hand piece by piece. For this blonde character styling, the wig featured bright yellow with white gradient streaks, which, combined with green contact lenses, brought out that lively, wild glint in her gaze immediately. The venue was packed, so we laid down a pure white fleece rug as a staging mat, and the dark, blurred background cleanly highlighted the character's silhouette.
The lighting and flooring at the convention were very cooperative, with no distracting glares. The photographer was also quick on the shutter, and both shots were picked from burst captures to catch natural moments. Ju Fufu is a character with large, expressive motions, so keeping the crouching and one-handed support poses relaxed without being stiff—while balancing the tail's center of gravity—was quite a test of core strength. The outfit's breathability was decent for the venue; although the yellow-black jacket was relatively thick, the indoor AC worked well enough to keep me from sweating profusely.
As for props, I didn't carry weapon accessories, relying entirely on hand gestures and eye expressions to convey the character's personality. With index fingers slightly curved to mimic beast claw gestures and an upper body leaning slightly forward, it conveyed the tension of being ready to pounce at any second. During the shoot, we took care to frame out cluttered booth stands and passersby. Post-processing was kept to basic skin brightening and subtle sharpening without heavy retouching, preserving the authentic lighting of the venue.
If you also enjoy this wild yet energetic look or are studying similar styling combinations, pay close attention to the jacket silhouette and wig layering. Ju Fufu's design is visually striking with a timeless yellow-black-gray palette. When choosing materials for beast ears and tails, fluffier plush textures yield much better results. Next time I cosplay at a beast-ear girl comic convention, I might experiment with dynamic action shots, like mid-air leaps or rapid turning moments.
The atmosphere of a comic convention truly allows you to get into character instantly, with fellow fans stopping by to interact—an immersive feeling that studio shoots can hardly replicate. Coming back to these two shots: although the high-angle shot was a tricky angle, it unexpectedly showed off great proportions, keeping the subject centered without edge clipping, making it perfect for an avatar or cover. Overall, I am very satisfied with this shoot, and I look forward to challenging other character styles when the chance arises!
