To support this richly tiered silhouette, I wore oversized bloomers paired with an ultra-voluminous hoop skirt underneath, meaning I had to hoist the hem with both hands just to walk and practically squeeze through the expo turnstiles sideways.

If the bodice lacks form-fitting structure or the petticoat lacks sufficient volume, the overall proportions quickly appear bulky and shapeless. I am thoroughly pleased with how everything came together. While my shoulders were sore from carrying the dress all day, seeing the crisp fabric textures, hem pipings, and silky specular highlights in the final edits made the exhaustion feel completely worthwhile. Keeping the look pristine also required frequent makeup touch-ups and hem smoothing throughout the day.
