This photoshoot took place outdoors by a waterfall. We checked the weather forecast in advance, confirmed the water flow conditions, and prepped waterproof shoes and rain gear. On site, the wind was fierce, mist was everywhere, and the ground was rather slick, requiring utmost caution when moving around. However, this environment was exceptionally favorable for showcasing garment motion—long hair and hemlines blowing in the wind made the action captures look very natural.

This Blaze cosplay costume is designed in a Tactical outfit style with abundant details; the intricacy of straps, metal buckles, and utility belts exceeded expectations, taking quite some time to assemble and adjust. The weapon prop is made of solid wood and metal components, carrying more weight in hand than anticipated. Lifting it single-handedly or resting it on the shoulder required careful center-of-gravity balancing to avoid looking stiff. For makeup and styling, we used a vivid red-and-black palette, focusing on the eyes and sharpening the eye shape to look fiercer, complemented by her signature Animal ears. Due to heavy water mist, we frequently dabbed away moisture from cheeks and hair with tissues to prevent makeup from running. The roaring waterfall was loud, so the photographer exerted extra effort to ensure smooth communication.

Maintaining the props was another challenge, as mist and splashes easily made them wet, requiring continuous wiping with dry cloths. To capture the best angles, we repeatedly adjusted our footing to find a spot that was both safe and ideal for action poses. Compared to typical studio sessions, the natural lighting in this outdoor setting was fluid and dynamic—while it heightened difficulty, it also elevated realism in this Outdoor photography set. Whenever a gust of wind blew by, the shutter had to click rapidly to freeze that fleeting moment of dynamism. Although pre-production and on-site adjustments were physically demanding, seeing the captured frames on screen made every effort worthwhile. This was a truly unique Outdoor photography experience vastly different from studio work. Heartfelt thanks to the photographer for their dedication and patience, allowing me to smoothly bring to life the character I envisioned.
