I actually put a lot of thought into this Ganyu Secretary outfit shown at the convention, from early preparation to the shoot itself. The clothes are a specially customized white shirt and black short skirt, with a fit that restores the capable yet intellectual feel from the game as much as possible. The most troublesome parts were the red horn headpiece and the blue wig. To keep the wig from looking rigid during the shoot, I spent several days styling and setting it in advance, intentionally adding layers to make the hair strands look wind-blown. The glasses are also custom-made semi-rimless metal frames, instantly bringing out the secretary's aura once put on.
During the shoot, the photographer chose a relatively dark corner at the convention venue and used a flash to create this dramatic light and shadow effect. At that time, I was asked to strike a floating pose. To be honest, it was quite hard at first because I had to tuck one leg in, straighten the other leg, lean my upper body back, and guide with my arm. Maintaining that sense of balance truly tested my core strength. The patch of white smoke on the ground was actually added in post-production, simulating the moment of landing or releasing a skill, giving the entire frame more dynamic tension.
The convention environment is actually very noisy with people coming and going, but the photographer was great at catching the right moment, snapping this set during gaps in the crowd. During post-processing, the focus was on handling the skin tone and the texture of the clothes, preserving the wrinkles of the white shirt and the translucent look of the black stockings, while darkening the background to highlight the subject. I particularly love the fluttering hair ends and the pointing of the fingertips in this picture; it really feels like Ganyu suddenly had her attention caught by something while in her work mode.
Standing in these high heels for most of the day really made my feet tired, but seeing the final Convention photos made it all feel worth it. As a coser, every time I do a character, I hope to restore their essence. This time, with the intellectualism, elegance, and that subtle hint of laziness of the secretary Ganyu, I feel I managed to capture a bit of it. During breaks in the shoot, I also met many friends who love Genshin Impact as well. Everyone exchanged tips on makeup and props, and this kind of atmosphere is the most charming part of conventions.
These Convention photos mainly wanted to present a relaxed feeling during work breaks. Although it was inside the exhibition hall, the lighting and angles gave the frame an independent narrative space. I hope friends who like Ganyu can feel the dedication put into this.
