[Nian cosplay] Arknights: This Red-and-White Baddie Style Is Absolutely Unreal

When shooting Nian cosplay from Arknights this time, the primary focus was on recreating the red-and-white spicy baddie style. Regarding the costume, the red bandeau top and white shorts strongly accentuate body curves, and the red thigh garter paired with white shorts delivers great visual impact. To perfectly showcase the cool baddie aura, I specially wore purple colored contacts matched with a golden-white long wig and red horn accessories. The red symbol on my forehead was hand-painted stroke by stroke by the makeup artist, with the angle nailed down just right. Wearing this outfit, the outer jacket is relatively loose, requiring me to tug at the hem slightly while walking to maintain a casual yet effortlessly cool posture.

My partner cosplayed Shu (Shu cosplay); her intricate colorful beaded strings, flowing white robe, and gold-white-blue multi-toned wig looked exceptionally exquisite, capturing the charm of The Sui Siblings. We chose a traditional Chinese classical garden for the shoot; the background's wooden railings, circular moon gate, and filtering natural light created a wonderful contrast against the modern techwear flair of the costumes.

The most exhausting part was actually the pose for the third photo: I had to rest one raised leg against the railing while stabilizing my center of gravity, all while controlling facial expressions to maintain a confident, unyielding gaze—so my legs were quite sore after the entire set. Throughout the shoot, we constantly communicated angles with the photographer, exploring ways to sculpt the waistline using light and shadow, or utilizing the red-and-white prop staff to enhance the geometric composition of the frame. Because Nian's character makeup is naturally dramatic and easily washed out under daytime natural light, I had to touch up my makeup multiple times.

Teaming up with Sister Shu was seamless: she held the colorful beads and tassels while I wielded the long staff, and the contrast between cool and warm tones looked wonderfully harmonious on camera. Post-processing was also very meticulous—retouching skin to look fair and translucent while maintaining the vivid saturation of the red bodice and thigh garters to ensure the photoset's premium texture. Overall, this was a fantastic cosplay experience. From the misty air in the garden to the subtle sheen on the wooden railings, everything was captured in these photos, bringing out the cocky, fiercely spicy Nian I envisioned. Looking forward to trying other styles with Sister Shu next time!
