[Rina cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Victoria Housekeeping Co. at Your Service

Putting on Rina's black, red, and white color-blocked combat maid outfit and standing inside an industrial warehouse crisscrossed with yellow caution tape, the authentic weight of the mechanical props immediately switched me into character. For this shoot combining indoor and outdoor elements, we deliberately chose a location filled with metal mesh and moody lighting to match Victoria Housekeeping Co.'s battle-ready, sharp demeanor.

Let's start with the costume details. The black-and-white lace ruffles accented with red straps actually hide many clever touches. Many parts required brooches and snap fasteners for securing; combined with the waist cincher and black stockings on the legs, the overall look needed to balance a maid's grace while maintaining combat mobility when worn. Styling the wig was also quite challenging, striving to capture that sleek yet refined curve, which, paired with the tech-infused mechanical earrings, transformed my presence instantly.

All three of our characters were in the shoot this time; teaming up with Ellen Joe and Corin brought out incredible visual depth and team tension. When framing group composite shots, we adjusted our positions repeatedly to find staggered, dynamic compositions for the three of us. Melee weapon props like the scythe and giant chainsaw were not only bulky but also remarkably heavy, severely testing our arm strength and balance when raised; yet it was precisely these props that added tangible impact to the images. The red mechanical head prop floating in mid-air was achieved using suspension wires and specific camera angles; seeing it hover naturally beside us in the final photos made all the tedious calibrations beforehand completely worthwhile.

The yellow caution tape in the scene was a major visual highlight—we deliberately framed it running across the shot or acting as foreground occlusion to create a gritty sense of ruin and lurking danger. The flash provided hard lighting that carved out the characters' rim profiles while giving the black stockings cosplay texture a subtle, controlled sheen in low light. We did face some challenges during the shoot: cluttered debris on the warehouse floor restricted movement, and numerous blind spots required constant facial fill light. Fortunately, photographer Xiaomeng was highly experienced and consistently captured the most natural moments.

As a cosplayer, I always feel that bringing a beloved character to life through one's own interpretation is deeply rewarding. The character Rina possesses a composed, unflappable power—though dressed in an elegant dress, she is a dependable professional operative to the core. In the end, we even captured some relaxed seated poses after setting down our weapons, evoking a distinct, serene atmosphere in the dim environment. This team collaboration was thoroughly delightful, and I hope to fully convey this unique 'maid mercenary' vibe to everyone through our lens.
