For this Zenless Zone Zero Remielle swimsuit photoset, we chose an indoor heated pool studio to capture a refreshing summer vacation vibe. To honor the character's design, I prepared a short pink wig, textured with layered trimming and set well in advance. In the high humidity of an indoor pool, wigs tend to wilt and flatten quickly, so I applied generous amounts of freeze spray to ensure the strands preserved their airy volume throughout the shoot. The blue-and-white striped seashell hair accessories and white headband were crisscross-pinned with bobby pins; paired with rosy-pink contact lenses and pink-toned eye makeup, the complexion retained a luminous, translucent finish even under intense studio illumination.

Wardrobe-wise, the upper body featured a white halter-neck swimsuit, while the lower half flared into a gossamer tulle skirt transitioning from pale lavender to soft pink, cinched at the back with an oversized white bowknot. In water, the sheer skirt absorbed moisture rapidly and grew exceptionally heavy, making buoyant lightness difficult to sustain. To achieve the intended aesthetic, I repeatedly lifted and fluffed the fabric between takes, relying on the gentle buoyancy of ripples to preserve its shape. To accentuate the character's whimsical fantasy traits, semi-translucent glowing hearts and star VFX were added across the skirt flounces in post-production.

The most physically grueling segment of the shoot was the half-kneeling, over-the-shoulder glance in the pool. The submerged blue tiles were slick, and the water resistance was formidable; kneeling on one leg submerged required engaging my core to stabilize my balance. Twisting my torso to glance backward while sustaining fluid, elegant lines across my shoulders and back demanded intense stamina. To elevate the visual texture, I intentionally kept genuine water droplets clinging to the skin, which caught specular highlights under rim backlighting to evoke an authentic, sunlit summer splash.

For set styling, we opted for pale-blue wood-paneled walls and crisp white window frames, dressed with a lifebuoy, anchor wall hangings, and watermelon props resting atop a miniature blue round table. The palette remained delightfully unified, leaning into gentle, welcoming warm tones. Because water ripples easily cast chaotic shadow artifacts across the face, our gaffer utilized multiple softbox diffusers to fill the shadows, ensuring clean, even illumination across the subject.

The entire shoot was undoubtedly demanding—water resistance doubled the physical exertion behind every single pose—yet seeing the final retouched shots where light, shadow, and ripples intertwine so organically made every bit of hard work completely worthwhile.
