This time I chose the look of Remilia from Touhou Project, a pink and white dress paired with red Gothic details, along with her iconic blue hair and red wings, making it a very challenging character. The ruby brooch at the collar and the red bow at the waist form the visual focus; completely breaking away from the common black-and-white vampire costume, this clash of tender pink and dark elements carries great tension. The wig was thinned out and fluffed up to make the silhouette closer to the unique roundness of a chibi character. Regarding props, the tip of the red spear was rounded for shooting safety, and the apple held in my hand is not only a tribute to the original work's setting but also became the crowning touch to enhance the playful vibe in this set of photos. The stitching and texture of this dress are very exquisite, with distinct layers of ruffles, complemented by red ribbon embellishments, bringing elegance within sweetness. The red wings use a semi-rigid molding combined with texture painting to stay as close as possible to the silhouette of the original artwork. The indoor light sources were quite cluttered during the shoot, so to create the atmosphere of a red moon, we specially layered dark red light effects in the background to echo the red on the costume. Due to ground reflections, there were actually quite a few unwanted background elements on set; in post-processing, I applied some blurring and darkening to the edges of the frame to keep the visual focus concentrated on the character's face and prop interaction. The overall makeup and styling follow a doll-like style, with the eye makeup chosen in a light tone within the same color family as the wig, and highlights accentuating a lively expression. Amidst the light and shadow atmosphere, I also hoped to recreate that composed and slightly tsundere feeling of the Scarlet Devil Mansion's mistress. Throughout the entire cosplay process, controlling the details made me feel very fulfilled, and the final photos ultimately presented the character's temperament quite accurately. Every attempt allows me to immerse myself deeper into the character, and I am very happy to leave such a special moment in front of the lens.
