[Remilia cosplay] Touhou Project Master of the Scarlet Devil Mansion Autumn Reitaisai styling record - Image 1

This Autumn Reitaisai trip was primarily for this Remilia styling. Let's talk about the wearing experience of this outfit first. Overall, it's a pink-toned Lolita dress; the layered ruffles and lace workmanship are very solid, but it also means wearing it is extremely cumbersome. The black-to-red gradient bat wings on the back are the prop centerpiece; although they look large, they are made of lightweight materials, yet after wearing them for a long time, there are still strap marks on the shoulders. The wig is light purple-gray; to maintain fluffiness in front of the lens, the hair roots were given a very firm setting. In terms of makeup, to fit the setting of the young mistress, Master of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, the eye makeup didn't use too heavy red, but instead used light pink as a base with elongated outer corners, paired with light-colored contact lenses to emphasize an extraordinary sense of refinement. The large red bow on the chest and the ribbon at the waist are the visual center; to ensure they don't skew while walking, I used many safety pins to fix them on the inside.

The temperature on the day of the Autumn Reitaisai was not low, and shuttling through the venue wearing so many layers of fabric is actually quite a test of physical strength. Especially when lifting the skirt hem, my arms had to stay suspended the whole time, otherwise it was very easy to step on the hem. However, the recognition of this outfit at the convention is indeed very high; along the way, I was recognized and greeted by quite a few fellow fans, and photographers came to book shoots. We found a gray wall with relatively even lighting outside the venue for shooting. During the shoot, the photographer suggested I do more dress-lifting actions, which can showcase both the structure and layers of the dress and make the whole person look more agile. Actually, although the character Master of the Scarlet Devil Mansion usually looks petite, her aura is very strong, so in expression control, I didn't smile too much, mainly slightly lifting my chin, looking straight into the lens, trying to restore that confident yet slightly mysterious feeling.

Many friends might think that cosplaying such a gorgeous character only requires the clothes to look good, but in reality, wearing props and the character's posture are equally important. How to adjust the wing straps so they don't dig into the flesh, how to comb the wig so it doesn't look fake, how to lift the skirt so it doesn't look like carrying a sack—these are all experiences accumulated from doing cosplay every time. This time I chose a pair of red platform shoes to match; although slightly more casual compared to the shoes in the setting, in order to walk around the convention for a day, comfort comes first. Overall, the presentation effect of this outfit makes me quite satisfied, and chatting with fellow fans at the convention was also very happy. Every time I return from a convention my body is very tired, but when retouching photos and seeing the final pictures, I feel that no matter how troublesome the preliminary preparation is, it's worth it. Later on, I might consider doing some interactive shooting with other characters from the Scarlet Devil Mansion; after all, Touhou Project's rabbit hole is too deep, and every time I can find a new challenge.
