For this early Christmas theme shoot, I chose Rem from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-. The theme revolves around a white fluffy Lamb costume onesie with lamb elements. We used a top-down overhead perspective for the shoot, which nicely accentuates leg contours. To enhance the visual presentation, I paired it with striped Pink stockings featuring white fuzzy trim at the cuffs, echoing the overall white plush outfit. The blue wig paired with white earmuffs stood out vividly against the red-and-green plaid backdrop and snowman props. The studio set was decorated with various Christmas theme elements, including a snow-dusted Christmas tree, red-and-white candy canes, a red Santa hat, and scattered straw on the floor. To ensure tactile image texture, warm-toned lighting was used to make the garment's plush fleece textures pop. Posing-wise, I emulated Rem's usual slightly languid yet tsundere demeanor; however, because top-down shots heavily test body control, keeping legs elevated with flattering lines took substantial physical effort. Meanwhile, I carefully groomed the white outfit to make sure there were no visible stains or fuzz. Through this shoot, I hope everyone experiences a different side of Rem—a fluffy, adorable Rem made for winter Christmas.
When putting on this Lamb costume look, I slipped on the striped Pink stockings first. These stockings have great elasticity and hugged the leg contours snugly. Next came the outer white plush onesie, crafted from thick, cozy fabric with great heat retention. On top, I added the white earmuffs. Following the photographer's guidance, I lay on the red-and-green plaid blanket, raising my legs upward with pointed toes to present flattering leg lines to the lens. In the top-down shot, the surrounding setup looked like a cozy little Christmas nest. Holding this pose for an extended period was actually quite tiring due to continuous abdominal engagement. Yet in front of the lens, maintaining a relaxed, playful expression was essential. Lighting underwent several adjustments; since white fleece easily blows out, we softened the light to preserve the delicate texture of the fleece pom-poms. As for the surrounding props, details like the snowman's red scarf were made of real textured fabric. This shooting style created a charming contrast with the character's usually cool demeanor, making her feel much more approachable. Although an early holiday shoot, the prep work was meticulous, checking everything from wardrobe to props. In terms of overall color coordination, the red Santa hat and straw served as wonderful accents. The photographer suggested using the red-and-green plaid blanket as the base backdrop to accentuate the character's blue hair and white outfit. The white plush onesie features button fastenings, with round brown buttons adding a vintage charm. A tiny yellow bell tied at the collar added a touch of liveliness. The pairing of striped Pink stockings, which everyone is most curious about, was a pivotal part of the styling. Because white can easily look bulky, the Pink stockings sculpted the leg silhouette. To keep it visually engaging, I layered short white socks over the pink stockings for a layered styling effect. For lighting, three continuous lights were arranged with the key light coming diagonally from above, catching the plush highlights perfectly. Prior to shooting, I carefully styled the blue wig, ensuring strand direction and curl definition for a lustrous sheen. Although the process was tiring, seeing the finalized shots made every effort feel worthwhile, even evoking a peaceful holiday tranquility. Beyond physical portrayal, I also strove to tap into the subtle solitude deep within Rem's soul, which dissolved beautifully within this warm scene. Delving further into shooting details: bending the legs elongated the lines of the Pink stockings flawlessly, making legs look remarkably long. Additionally, for balanced composition, a small card with English lettering was placed in the lower-left corner to enhance the festive Christmas theme ambiance. Every detail in this shoot was carefully calculated to strike a balance between character essence and festive holiday mood—making it a deeply rewarding experience.
