This styling for Ryougi Shiki combines bunny ears with a carrot prop. We did extensive prep work beforehand, mainly to capture the distinctive vibe of this specific event design. The straight black short hair paired with vivid bright-blue contacts was paramount for recreating the look; we tested multiple contact lens styles and lighting angles to match the character's cool, intensely focused gaze. In terms of attire, the lustrous white coat features a red collar, chunky gold chain, and chest embroidery—the fabric texture and light reflection were key visual focal points, right down to the floral-patterned underlayer peeking through the neckline.
A realistic faux carrot was used as a prop. While many believe rabbits naturally feast on carrots, that's actually a widespread myth; the pose biting the carrot wasn't about eating, but rather creating a playful contrast. Paired with bunny ears, it added a delightful touch of whimsy to an otherwise aloof and sharp character—this 'gap moe' contrast was the creative core of the shoot. The first photo features a side-profile glance back: this angle defined facial contours cleanly, with an intense gaze toward the lens delivering an aura of mystery. The balanced, centered composition showcased both costume details and facial nuance, making it the natural choice for the cover. The second shot, pushing the carrot toward the lens, emphasized interactive playfulness.
Throughout the shoot, to achieve a crisp, clean background aesthetic, we focused on surface luster and color temperature. Post-processing refrained from excessive flashy edits, primarily preserving costume textures and emotional resonance in the eyes. The weather was quite chilly during the shoot, but to maintain natural body posture, I braved the cold in light layers, silently counting down the minutes until I could warm up with a hot milk tea. With tight control over tone and composition, this set seeks to express the 2D aesthetic in a grounded, authentic way.
