A day as a dark Lolita at Universal Studios Japan - Image 1

The Halloween cosplay atmosphere at Universal Studios Japan is intoxicating every year, and I finally entered the park wearing this costume I've prepared for a long time. Because the park is filled with immersive sets everywhere, to match this vibe, I specifically chose this crown Lolita outfit with striped elements. The upper body features a dark puff-sleeve design, with white ruffles pieced together at the collar and cuffs, while the large reddish-brown bow tie on the chest, paired with golden embroidery and tassels, looks very textured under the sunlight. The small black wings on the back and the horns on top give the overall styling a touch of dark fantasy, matched with reddish-brown contact lenses and cross earrings, making the entire Dark-style makeup and styling fit the theme park background extremely well.

Walking around the park and looking at all kinds of quirky Halloween decorations around is truly thrilling. The weather today was wonderful, with sunlight hitting me, and the color reproduction of the photos taken is very authentic. The only regret was that it was extremely crowded on the weekend. To find a spot with a slightly clean background, I held an umbrella and waited for over ten minutes under the sun, constantly watching out for passersby walking into the frame behind me. However, seeing the final photos made me feel that all the waiting was worth it.

Coming here for Halloween cosplay this time, what excited me the most was still the park's zombie NPCs. Watching them wander the streets and suddenly pop out to scare tourists from time to time, I felt both terrified and envious in my heart. I even told my friends that while this outfit looks great, I'd rather change into their clothes and blend into the NPC ranks. If I could be a zombie NPC for once while visiting, I would definitely hide in a corner and specifically target people not paying attention to where they're walking, scaring whoever I want—that feeling would be super stress-relieving.

Speaking of the wearing experience of this Lolita outfit, it wasn't as bulky as imagined. However, because the wings on the back are a bit stiff, I had to be slightly careful when riding roller coasters or attractions to avoid getting stuck or blocking others. The skirt hem width is just right, making movement convenient without worrying about stepping on the skirt. To match the overall color tone, I deliberately chose a dark-style makeup and styling today, pressing the lipstick color relatively deep so the contours remain distinct even under strong outdoor light.

After a full day of shooting and playing, physical stamina was indeed quite depleted, but mentally I felt extremely fulfilled. During Halloween, Universal Studios Japan is filled with a festive carnival atmosphere no matter where you go. Although I couldn't realize my wish of becoming a zombie NPC this time, leaving behind so many images in the park wearing my favorite attire has already been a wonderful experience. There are still many details of this styling that can be polished, such as adding more glitter to the eye makeup next time or pondering props integration further, striving to produce even more faithful and atmospheric works in the future. If given the chance, I really want to stay here from morning till night, experiencing the theme park under different light and shadow moments. Looking forward to next year's Halloween cosplay event, and hoping to return with an even more perfected work.
