[Nico cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's Cunning Hares — My Appearance Fee is Quite Expensive, You Know!

A lot of care went into this look, from the wig down to the accessories. Wearing the black bunny-ear hairpiece on pink twin-tails, paired with the black-and-yellow clip on the bangs, instantly elevated the character's recognizable silhouette. For the outfit, I chose a monochrome color-blocked cropped vest and leather jacket, paired with raw-hem shorts and cut-out lace-up thigh-highs for this Stocking outfit, retaining the functional techwear aesthetic while keeping the look visually fresh. The silver platform boots and thigh straps gave the lower body sleek, sharp lines, showcasing the proportions beautifully in both standing and sitting poses.

The lighting on shoot day was very sharp; high-power studio strobes faithfully brought out the leather jacket's sheen and the matte texture of the Stocking outfit. In post-production color grading, photographer Chen deliberately subdued the background, preserving only the warm-and-cool contrast on the subject. This made the green contact lenses pop dramatically, creating a striking visual impact against the pink hair. In terms of props, the green-and-yellow plush bunny charm was the soul of the styling—hooked to the hip, it added youthful girlish vitality without letting the black-and-white-grey ensemble look monotonous. The black briefcase adorned with rabbit patterns and lettering also matched the overall aesthetic, looking great whether held or placed nearby as a prop.

For this Cosplay photoshoot, I deliberately tried several distinct poses: close-up shots holding a gold coin, standing backward glances, and dynamic kneeling moments scattering coins. The close-up shot used a tight frame, clearly capturing the eye makeup and lip shade; pinching the coin with fingertips partially shielded my eyes, creating an air of mystery and playful tsundere pride. The seated pose showcased the leg length and boot contours to the fullest—the dangling toes and elbow-supported posture felt effortlessly relaxed, while looking directly into the lens totally nailed the character's confident and carefree demeanor. For the standing shots, I tried both a slight head tilt upward and a waving gesture; waving felt more cheerful and approachable, while the tilted head added a touch of unruly cool.

In fact, I've shot similar styles across many settings before, but this black-and-grey studio backdrop was particularly intriguing. Free of distracting clutter, the simple platform and geometric walls allowed viewers to focus entirely on the subject, much like clean Convention photos. With plenty of spatial room, we utilized different step heights and corner angles to create layered dimension, bringing out varied emotions from the same character. Looking back, adjusting the wig and accessories before each shoot always takes nearly two hours—especially aligning the symmetry of the twin-tails and angling the choker pendant just right so it drapes naturally; neglecting these details drastically undermines the final photo quality. Fortunately, this wig was great quality with moderate curls, avoiding an oversized afro look, and with the support of the top hair accessory, the hairstyle barely deformed throughout the session.

Regarding the character herself in Zenless Zone Zero, I feel the greatest allure of this styling lies in the complex blend of badass coolness and playful charm. The black leather jacket appears edgy and aggressive, yet the white cropped vest underneath keeps the waistline clean and refreshing; the leg straps and cut-outs are high-design elements, while the stockings retain girlish sweetness. Balancing this duality during shooting required precise calibration: overly exaggerated movements felt too rigid, whereas overly soft poses failed to support the leather jacket's commanding presence. Thus, I constantly refined my shoulder angles and chin elevation to find the sweet spot in every frame.

I even asked fellow fans about the starting digits of their acquired UIDs, as scoring a favored number is always a special fate. Whatever the numbers are, being able to explore the game together is pure joy. Joking aside about the "appearance fee," the energy and time invested behind every shoot represent the real cost—from makeup coordination and on-site direction to post-retouching, each step demands immense patience. Huge thanks to the photography team's seamless cooperation, allowing me to express myself freely before the camera in this Nico cosplay. I'm very pleased with the overall completion of this set, preserving the character's original hallmarks while infusing my personal expression.
