[Miyu cosplay] Beijing Type-Moon Only Cosplay Convention Photos: The Daily Shoot of an "Auto-Pilot" Model

I pulled out this set of Cosplay convention photos shot at the Beijing Type-Moon Only event (Beijing Anime Convention) to look back on the details from that day. This time, I cosplayed Miyu from Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya. On the day of the shoot, the venue was crowded and the lighting was erratic; we spent considerable time scouting angles to frame clean, uncluttered backgrounds. Considering the chaotic convention environment, the photographer intentionally used a wide aperture to blur props like the pearl-adorned birdcage, the blue staff, and the golden rings into foreground bokeh, adding rich depth and layering to the composition.

For styling, I trimmed the wig beforehand and pinned down the white cross-hairpins securely. The placement of the black bows on the dress was readjusted multiple times to prevent slipping. Wearing heavy foundation and orange contacts for extended periods put a bit of strain on my skin and eyes. People often call me an "auto-pilot model" because, having shot extensively, I naturally know where the lens is and how to pose to maximize the frame's compositional lines. However, much of the credit goes to the photographer's patient direction—holding that pearl birdcage prop for long periods made my arms sore, requiring several breaks. It was precisely their professional guidance and sharp shutter timing that made the movements appear natural and effortless.

This technique of balancing foreground bokeh with sharp focal subjects is truly effective for Cosplay convention photos. I also met many fellow fans at the venue. Although navigating the dense crowd was tiring, constantly having to dodge passersby and avoid background gear clutter, I was deeply satisfied with the final deliverables. Sharing this complete full-body composition serves as a wonderful visual record of that day's dedicated shoot.
