[Kyoyama Kazusa cosplay] Refreshing cat-like everyday life in Blue Archive

The Convention photos from Guangzhou Baonly are finally ready! This time I chose to shoot Kyoyama Kazusa cosplay from Blue Archive. Kazusa's outfit has always conveyed a very casual, accessible vibe, so instead of choosing complex heavy scenes, I opted for a bright, spacious semi-outdoor corridor in a modern building. My goal was to recreate her laid-back, slightly cat-like everyday presence.

First, let's discuss hair and makeup. Headpieces and the wig served as visual focal points: a black straight-banged wig blending into a purple-gray gradient at the tips. To closely align with her image, I specially trimmed the bang length and layering. The pink-and-black cat ears atop the head are soft, with built-in aluminum wire for easy shaping. Coupled with her iconic pink translucent halo, the whole setup balances moe charm with a sci-fi touch under the light. For makeup, I chose a clean, radiant base while emphasizing pink eyeshadow blending to match the contact lenses, avoiding heavy embellishment to keep everything refreshed and clean.

Outfit-wise, I maintained the casual, effortless style seen in her official art. A white camisole inner layer paired with a light pink zipped jacket, intentionally worn off-the-shoulder along the arms to create breathing room and visually broaden shoulders. The lower half features a deep navy blue pleated skirt cinched with a black belt—simple, clean, yet eye-catching without overly complex layers. For footwear, white socks paired with black platform lace-up Oxford shoes not only elongated leg proportions but also infused a sweet-yet-cool texture to the overall aesthetic. Additionally, a black choker with a tiny pendant around the neck served as a finishing touch, elevating outfit detail completeness through a subtle accent.

During shooting, the photographer cleverly utilized mirror reflections from shallow water puddles on the ground to create a reflection effect, adding a translucent sense of depth to the composition. Standing while making cat-paw gestures—arms slightly curved and extended outward—highlighted garment silhouettes and lively dynamics. Meanwhile, kneeling and seated camera angles showcased the fluid pleats of the skirt and graceful leg contours. Character designs grounded in everyday fashion heavily test character recognizability and personal expression; fortunately, the fluffy pink cat ears and halo provided unmistakable recognition in the crowd, helping me lock into state rapidly during Cosplay photography.

The convention atmosphere was extraordinarily passionate, allowing me to meet many fans who love this game. Before cosplaying her, I paid close attention to personality nuances in original art: Kazusa's tsundere exterior masking a deep care for those around her requires careful rendering through subtle eye contact and body language. In the first picture, the gesture of touching the back of her neck with a bashful expression perfectly matched her character lore. Mastering these nuanced expressions is always a key focus I brainstorm and practice before every location shoot.

Ambient light for this location shoot turned out unexpectedly amazing; the hallway canopy ceiling formed a soft diffuse reflection light source, eliminating ambient light troubles and yielding a remarkably high hit rate for keeper photos. Makeup also took on great texture under natural light. For long-term engagement in Cosplay photography, discovering a quiet yet premium corner amidst convention noise to capture ideal results is a genuine delight. Ultimately, this set achieves perfect harmony in color balancing and atmospheric expression, staying true to my initial vision without clutter—delivering the precise, crisp, clean aesthetic I envisioned.
