Having wandered around ChinaJoy for half the day, my eyes were already suffering from visual fatigue, but walking past the McDonald's booth, I was instantly captivated by that colossal, towering fried chicken model. Today, I wore the Asuka Cosplay Red dress, which serendipitously echoed the red-and-yellow color scheme of McDonald's Fried Chicken Dipping Sauce Festival. This Red dress was exceptionally photogenic against the booth's red backdrop and yellow smiley logo—saying I snapped ten thousand Convention photos is honestly no exaggeration!
I spent quite some time prepping the hair, makeup, and styling for this cosplay. To faithfully portray the character, I specifically picked an orange-brown wig styled into high twin tails, secured on both sides with red-and-black rose hair ornaments. For makeup, I chose luminous blue contact lenses, slightly winging out the outer corners of my eyes to accentuate an anime-style half-German heritage look. The outfit is a shiny, glossy Red dress camisole miniskirt featuring a cutout bodice, an umbrella-flared voluminous skirt, and a trailing mesh train at the back that flows gracefully when walking. To pair with the Red dress, I selected a black lace choker, short black gloves, and Black stockings, capped off with dark red high heels—creating a striking red-and-black color block that is remarkably eye-catching. This styling was not only comfortable while touring the convention floor, but also resonated splendidly with the bright, vibrant atmosphere of the booth. The overhead venue lights gleamed across the patent leather texture of the Red dress with a subtle sheen, which, paired with the swaying twin tails, created fantastic dynamic momentum.
The check-in spots and activities on site were designed with great charm—featuring not only gigantic beverage cup replicas and fried chicken models, but also engaging interactive stations. A massive crowd queued up for the Perler bead workshop, so I joined the fun and crafted a cute mini fried chicken; looking at all the creative chicken designs made by people around me made me hungrier by the second! McDonald's truly poured sincerity into celebrating the 23rd anniversary of "I'm lovin' it" with this Fried Chicken Dipping Sauce Festival, from visual design to visitor interaction. Many passing attendees and photographers asked to snap a few Convention photos, and posing with the booth's adorable prop fans yielded an exceptionally high rate of great shots. Fun interactive photo installations were scattered throughout, where fellow fans gathered to take commemorative photos in a wonderfully lively atmosphere.
While touring the expo, I also discovered a hidden perk: presenting your ChinaJoy admission ticket at 28 themed McDonald's restaurants across Shanghai with any purchase over 49.9 RMB earns you a complimentary dipping sauce chicken leg compact mirror—available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last! After wrapping up this satisfying set of Convention photos, the very first thing I did once the convention ended was rush straight to a McDonald's to order dipped fried chicken and treat myself. Today's dreamy crossover between the Asuka Cosplay Red dress and McDonald's fried chicken was easily one of the most delightful experiences across all my convention check-ins!
