I'd like to share the details of the preparation and on-site shooting for this Asuka swimsuit photo set. To recreate the character's visual features, I prepared a specific orange-red twin-tail wig and sunglasses with red hair accessories. For eye makeup, I used blue colored contacts and reddish blush to enhance the character's recognizability. The outfit was a classic red striped bikini paired with light blue denim shorts and a half-slipped-off pink long-sleeve jacket, which fits the character's design while looking quite natural in a water park setting.
The shooting location was a sunny outdoor swimming pool. The light that day was very intense, making it perfect for capturing a translucent summer feel. The photographer used backlighting and post-processing halo effects to make the overall atmosphere very soft. To accommodate the composition, we tried various poses. In the first photo, I knelt in the water with a raised hand, using the water's reflection to add layers to the image. The second photo features a sideways standing pose, fully showcasing the waist and leg lines with the character centered; this was ultimately chosen as the cover because it is less affected by watermarks, and the expression and posture are quite natural. The third photo is of me leaning against a yellow railing and looking back, with an excellent background blur. The fourth is a leaning-forward posture, which is quite lively.
Regarding action guidance, I followed the photographer's requests and tried actions like brushing my hair and adjusting my sunglasses to break the stiffness of standing poses. During Swimming pool photography, one must pay attention to the angle of the sunlight to avoid overly heavy facial reflections or overexposure on the back. Swimwear demands a lot from body lines, so I adjusted my condition before shooting, using deep breaths and posture adjustments to make my body look taller and straighter. The blue water surface and the red swimsuit formed a sharp contrast between cool and warm colors. During post-processing, this color conflict was mainly preserved, while the character's skin tone was slightly adjusted to look fairer and more translucent. Details were also refined along the edges to make the transition between the wig and the skin look more natural. This set of Summer Film showcases the character in a relaxed, playful state while having fun at a summer water park, perfectly capturing her inherent confident aura.
The shooting process was actually quite exhausting. I soaked in the water for a long time, and my clothes got wet, dried, and got wet again. I also had to constantly watch if the wig styling would collapse due to sweat. However, seeing the final results made everything feel worthwhile. Compared to other types of cosplay, Swimsuit cosplay demands higher fluidity and naturalness in movements; you can't be too stiff, so I tried my best to stay in a playful state. This photo set is not only a character interpretation but also a photography creation about the summer aquatic atmosphere.
