[Nahida Cosplay] First Encounter with the Traveler at Genshin Impact Fes

"The flower carriage sways, and Nahida opens her eyes." This is a record of convention photos from Genshin Impact Fes Day 1, as well as my first time officially meeting everyone in this form at an anime convention.

Regarding the recreation of this outfit, a lot of thought actually went into the material and color matching of the costume. You can pay attention to the subtle woven totems on the front of the garment, as well as the green armbands shaped like young leaves on the arms—these details are all meant to reinforce the touch of nature and vitality inherent to the character. To keep the elf ears cosplay pieces stable during the event while seamlessly blending with the wig, I made countless adjustments, and thankfully the securing held up smoothly on-site. For contact lenses, I specifically chose translucent light green to echo the gradient green at the tips of the hair. The overall color scheme focuses on white, mint green, and dark gold, aimed at looking sufficiently crisp and neat visually.

The lighting on the day of the shoot was actually quite messy; overhead hall lights and complex shadows of passersby easily made the outfit lose its original depth. Huge thanks here to photographer "Tiantianquan" for collaborating! We took advantage of a spot at the edge of the exhibition area that had a white plush floor mat, using foreground fill light to make the character look clear and radiant. The hands-on-hips stance in Photo 1 was actually designed to showcase the garment's front color scheme and cut to the maximum extent, making the transition between the white tights and strappy cut-out shoes look more naturally slender. In Photo 4, I also intentionally captured a pose sitting on a high barstool with one arm raised, aimed at letting the semi-transparent mint ribbon behind me float up to create a lightweight sense of airiness and dynamic atmosphere.

Spending a busy full day at Genshin Impact Fes, what left the deepest impression—besides the bustling expo atmosphere—was the endurance test this outfit put me through. Because of the leg strap decorations and exposed foot design, although visually very accurate, walking back and forth around the venue severely tested physical stamina, as any slight inattention would leave pinch marks. To maintain the essence of the character, I kept reminding myself to watch my posture. Since Nahida possesses the gentleness and inclusiveness belonging to the God of Wisdom, in front of the lens I leaned toward gentle small gestures like cupping my face with both hands or lightly clasping fingers to convey her warmth, rather than making large, energetic movements.

I also put extra effort into the makeup design. Considering that ambient lighting at conventions skews cool white, I deliberately broadened the blush area and slightly lengthened the eyeliner, so that close-up shots like Photos 2 and 3 could display a more vibrant, expressive look. Because the character's temperament leans quiet and inquisitive, I intentionally curbed any aggression across all movements, striving to present an utterly defenseless, gentle kindness. Even amidst a crowded convention hall, whenever I stood before the camera, I immersed myself completely in the state of meeting the Traveler for the very first time. These photos not only capture the accuracy of the cosplay, but also record a concrete expression of my understanding of the character as a coser.
