Prepping for this Zenless Zone Zero Sunna cosplay actually took quite a while. When I first saw her design, that effortless blend of languid nonchalance and spunky individuality felt remarkably captivating. To recreate this exact vibe, I chose a mint green wig leaning toward silver-white and styled it with loose curls, dedicating considerable care during grooming to eliminate frizz and keep the hair strands looking organic. The black triangular hairpiece and blue-black ribbon bow at the crown were crafted entirely by hand piece by piece, ensuring they kept their dimensional structure without being heavy enough to flatten the wig. For makeup, the focus was concentrated around the eyes: to match her green pupils, I tested multiple pairs of colored contacts before finding the right shade. The eyeshadow leaned into cool pinkish-brown tones to deepen the orbital sockets, complemented by highlighter dusting the brow bones and nose tip to sculpt facial dimensionality under camera strobes. Blush was applied very softly, mostly mimicking a subtle flush after a light workout.

Regarding the outfit, the printed pink tank top layered over denim shorts appears straightforward at first glance, but it's packed with intricate details. I deliberated for ages on how to anchor the orange and yellow floral hip pouches securely—they had to stay flush against my legs during movements without slipping, yet couldn't pinch so tightly as to restrict circulation. The blue-and-white striped sleeves and white glossy leggings served as the true soul of this coordination; that high-shine fabric is extraordinarily reflective under studio lights, meaning even the faintest wrinkle gets infinitely magnified. I spent substantial time smoothing out the pants, pressing down creases all the way through the insteps. To nail effortless and picturesque poses atop the school desk, I practiced sitting cross-legged and sideways in front of my mirror at home for days. Setting the scene in a classroom with stars stuck onto the chalkboard and sourcing a retro cassette boombox for the desk was meant to evoke the feeling of lingering after class, listening to music and unwinding.

The shoot was physically taxing, especially when continuously adjusting postures on a hard wooden school desk while wearing high-sheen leggings. With limited desk surface area, sitting cross-legged demanded solid core engagement: keeping the spine straight while leaving the shoulders relaxed to avoid hunching and preserve an aura of effortless ease. In the sideways seated pose of Photo 2, I tried engaging with the lens via a glance back over my shoulder, keeping my leg lines taut and elongated inside the leggings while bracing my hands behind me on the desk—a pose that really tested lower-back strength. The reflective material produced strong diffuse glare under the studio lights, leading the photographer to repeatedly reposition light sources to achieve tactile texture without blown-out highlights. By the end of the session, my knees and ankles bore deep red indentations from prolonged pressure, and the tight pants had left marks across my insteps. Yet seeing how transparent and luminous the lighting looked, with the mood dialed in so precisely, made every ounce of trouble worthwhile. This collection truly poured all my affection and interpretation of Sunna into the frame.
