This time, a beautifully landscaped park in Guangzhou was chosen for the Guangzhou location shooting. To match the casual, everyday feel of the original work as closely as possible, I chose a white sleeveless ruffled dress paired with a bright blue ribbon as the visual center. This color scheme looks incredibly refreshing amidst the outdoor greenery.
For the hairstyle, I used a long, straight, silver-white wig, embellished with a flower crown on top to give the overall look a softer, dreamier vibe. Walking barefoot on the grass and stone paths was an experiment for this shoot, aiming to make the character blend into nature more seamlessly and capture that carefree state of mind.
Regarding props, I prepared a small woven flower basket, a bouquet of white daisies, and a transparent long-handled umbrella. These props are not complicated, but they complement the green background perfectly without cluttering the frame. Especially in the last photo, standing in the middle of a bridge holding the transparent umbrella, the pose with one leg slightly raised captures a delicate sense of movement.
During the shooting process, controlling the light and composition was also crucial. Soft natural light was used this time without any harsh direct sunlight, allowing for a very natural shadow transition on the face and a translucent skin tone. In terms of Anime-style photography techniques, a wide aperture was utilized to blur the background trees and bushes appropriately, highlighting the subject and making the character's silhouette much sharper.
In an outdoor setting with such a strong natural vibe, the relaxation of expressions and movements is highly important. I didn't intentionally strike rigid or aloof poses but instead adjusted my emotions according to the scenery. For instance, in the shots where I sat on the bridge railing, I looked naturally into the distance or stared blankly at the flowers in my hand; when I opened my arms on the path, I actually wanted to capture a light, unconstrained feeling.
The weather was perfect on the day of the shoot, with dappled light filtering through the tree canopy, which truly enhanced the texture of the photos. Since white dresses can easily get overexposed in such bright environments, I paid extra attention during exposure and post-processing to preserve the layers of folds and fabric textures, preventing any blown-out whites.
For the interpretation of this character, I personally preferred to showcase her innocent and slightly ethereal side. The makeup was kept minimal, avoiding heavy eye makeup and focusing instead on the brightness and softness of the eyes. The overall tone followed a fresh and natural style, hoping to bring viewers a comfortable, effortless, and narrative-driven visual experience; this set of photos can be considered an outdoor record of this summer. In addition, the color accents on the flower crown and the choice of fabric prevented the white dress from looking too plain. White dresses can easily appear flat, but adding layered ruffles gave it a more three-dimensional look visually. I placed great importance on the overall harmony of this look, including the transparent umbrella, which served as an excellent reflector in this soft-light environment to bounce some gentle light back onto the face. Throughout the shoot, I walked barefoot on the pavement to feel the temperature and roughness of the ground, and this genuine sensory feedback made my expressions much more natural. This cosplay work maintains the character's signature gentle yet slightly lonely atmosphere as a whole, while the outdoor natural light infuses the character with a distinct vitality in reality.
