The rain has just stopped, and the air still carries a hint of moisture. This kind of diffuse light on a cloudy day is truly comfortable for shooting this blue and white color-themed photoset. There is no direct harsh light in the bamboo forest, and the overall color tone appears exceptionally cool and quiet, making it easy to create a serene and slightly mysterious vibe.

This shoot was chosen after the rain, so the humidity of the natural environment was very high. The wooden boardwalk clearly had a layer of water reflection reflecting the surrounding greenery, which perfectly matched the "rain-moistened" feel I wanted. However, this kind of damp weather not only tests the durability of the makeup but also requires extra care for the wig and costume. My wig is a light blue short wig with straight bangs, and to fix the two bows on top, I hid quite a few bobby pins inside beforehand. In terms of clothing, the blue and white base dress is paired with crisp mesh netting and white pom-poms, and the movement of the tutu dress looks beautiful when walking. The diamond crystal wings on the back are the visual focus of this styling; the transparent material refracts a faint blue-purple luster under the natural light of a cloudy day, and since it is not heavy, it didn't fall off while weaving through the bamboo forest.

That being said, wearing this kind of short dress in an unfamiliar natural environment, combined with the fact that it had just rained, made me feel a bit chilly. However, starting from the character's setting, this "chilliness" conversely became an emotional anchor that allowed me to quickly enter the state. During the shoot, I used some camera angle tricks I usually summarize myself; for instance, due to the bamboo forest terrain and the scattered hydrangeas, the photographer needed to look slightly down or up to avoid a cluttered background, allowing the towering bamboo and the flowers in front to serve as a natural foreground and depth of field.

The standing pose was deliberately shot in the middle of the boardwalk surrounded by hydrangeas, where the blue and white flowers blend into one with my clothing palette, resulting in a very clean visual. The sitting pose under the pavilion was meant to capture a bit of casual dynamic feel, with my hands gently placed in front of my body and a slight head tilt, aiming to stay close to that lively and slightly provocative (or derpy) expression found in anime illustrations. In fact, for this kind of character, capturing the expression is often more important than the pose, and the core is to restore her energetic confidence. During post-processing, I didn't do too much color shifting, primarily preserving the fresh greenish tone after the rain, and the blue of the clothing was not intentionally brightened, maintaining the original soft texture of the light as much as possible.

However, since it was an actual on-site outdoor shoot, it was inevitable to encounter problems like the lens fogging up and the skirt hem getting slightly heavier due to the dew. This is exactly the biggest difference between a location shoot and an indoor studio shoot. Although the conditions were tough, the resulting translucency and environmental integration are definitely things a green screen cannot achieve. I must thank the photographer for their patience in finding angles back and forth on the muddy wooden boardwalk, and also thank myself for bringing plenty of tissues and makeup touch-up supplies. It was a bit messy, but looking back at the photos, I feel everything was completely worth it for this piece of Anime-style photography.
