[Hifumi cosplay] Refreshing Blue Archive Swimsuit Cosplay Photoshoot by the Summer Pool

This shoot features Hifumi cosplay from Blue Archive, taking a set of refreshing swimsuit cosplay photos during the peak of summer. The iconic halo overhead indeed bears a slight resemblance to Bugles snacks, which served as a little joke during shooting to liven up the atmosphere. I was both the model and the photographer, handling the camera and directing the set myself throughout the entire process—completing an assigned task for myself.

First, regarding the environment that day, we chose an outdoor poolside. The venue's wooden deck and blue-and-white beach chairs fit this summer photography getaway setting wonderfully. The afternoon sun was bright and UV rays were strong; to prevent overall highlights from blowing out, shutter speed and aperture were carefully balanced. Post-processing retained bright blue and white tones, pursuing a crisp and clear visual feel. The wig featured light golden twin tails with plush feather-wing hairpieces on both sides and the core halo prop on top. I also perched sunglasses on the wig as an accessory to add a vacation vibe.

For the outfit, I chose a white ruffled two-piece swimsuit cosplay with thin black straps as a color-blocked accent, looking clean, crisp, and layered under summer sunlight. Since some shots required getting into the water, props included a white fluffy bird plushie and soft-soled sandals by my feet to make the overall look more vivid. In terms of pose design, combining relaxed postures sitting on the lounge chair, hand-on-chin close-ups, and interactive poses standing in water with both hands shouting tried to recreate her slightly naive yet cute personality.

For makeup, paired with the light-colored wig, I selected bright yellow contact lenses and applied light blush under the eyes to make her gaze appear brighter and softer. Overall foundation was kept sheer; shooting outdoors under blazing sun easily causes oil and sweat, making a clean makeup look vital. In one shot, wearing white tights, the semi-wet state upon entering water paired surprisingly well with the light-colored swimsuit, where water droplets glistening on the fair silky fabric greatly enhanced the cooling sense of a white tights photoshoot.

Regarding photography techniques, the main focus was balancing focal length and perspective around the seaside pool theme. I used a wide aperture for foreground blur to highlight the main subject while retaining essential environmental context. Using the beach chair as support, crossing legs while posing better outlined leg silhouettes. For shadow management, taking advantage of contrast between sunlight and shadows cast by surrounding wooden structures maintained overall bright clarity without letting the subject look washed out. I was extremely satisfied with the raw photo texture, achieving virtually straight-out-of-camera results.

Honestly, self-photography is quite tedious—controlling expressions while pressing the shutter requires running back and forth to focus. Yet, knowing exactly what framing and angles I wanted allowed me to capture moments with a more natural feel instead. Walking up from the water onto the deck after changing, the anklet reflecting light on my ankle felt intensely authentic in atmosphere. Overall, this swimsuit cosplay set gave me a more dimensional grasp of Hifumi cosplay, translating every scene feature and costume highlight into lens expression. Though tiring, it was a thoroughly liberating summer photography experience.
