[Shen Miao cosplay] Beijing ijoy Anime Convention Photos: A Vibrant and Refreshing Forest Moment

Sharing the convention photos from the Beijing ijoy Anime Convention! This time, I cosplayed as Shen Miao from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. The lighting at the convention venue was relatively complex, but the photographer made great use of the multiple rows of white square lights on the ceiling to beautifully capture the focus of the frames, giving this set of convention photos a very lightweight and airy texture.

Deciding to cosplay this character was partly because I felt the color scheme of this outfit was exceptionally refreshing. The gradient mix of light green and orange, combined with that loom-like translucent white tulle coat and clean, flowing ribbons, looks visually striking in a crowded environment like an anime convention. Another detail I love is the pair of small horn accessories on the head, with tiny yellow flowers at the base of the horns. Together with the braided elements and slightly wavy long hair, it delivers a lively youthful vibe without looking too heavy, and the tips of the hair sway naturally as I walk.

For the makeup and styling, to cope with the strong flashes and overhead lights at the convention venue, I chose a quite transparent, dewy lip look paired with slightly shimmering eyeshadow. This creates a natural dimensional look on the face after the lights hit. The eye makeup features slightly elongated eyeliner, making the eyes look brighter. Since the character Shen Miao inherently possesses a quirky and lively temperament, I didn't confine myself to traditional static poses when posing, but instead made more use of the flipping of the skirt hem and the natural draping of the ribbons to enhance dynamic beauty.

Many friends have been asking about the leg wear. This time I wore white tights paired with transparent platform chunky-heeled sandals. The advantage of this combination is that it visually extends the leg lines, and the platform design keeps the thick soles looking harmonious, making it less tiring to walk around the convention venue for a few laps. When taking this set of photos, my favorite is the one on the cover where my arms are fully extended, standing on one leg. In fact, that pose requires some core balance; I held my breath to strike it, and the ribbons and skirt hem happened to be captured in a flying state by the camera, looking particularly stretched and natural.

The crowd at this Beijing ijoy Anime Convention was massive, and the background was actually filled with various passing exhibitors and attendees. However, the photographer was very skilled at utilizing depth of field and the square lights on the venue ceiling to highlight the subject perfectly, making all the clothing textures and accessory details clearly visible. For instance, the green woven knot, tassels at the waist, and the orange-red petal-shaped edge of the skirt hem were excellently represented in terms of color contrast.

As a set of situational convention photos, this outfit combination stood out wonderfully under the complex convention lighting. Whether zooming in for a half-body close-up or moving further back for a full-body stretched action, it always presented a great state. Cosplaying this character also gave me a deeper understanding of that quirky, youthful vibe—it's not just about the outfit fitting well, but the expressions and action details must also align perfectly.
