[Shen Miao cosplay] Chii's Cool Summer Water Park Journey

This outfit presented plenty of challenges even before shooting began, as moving on a floating mat on the water surface is extremely slippery. In particular, the swimsuit fabric tends to feel sticky under the hot sun, making it tough to maintain poses. We had to constantly adjust our center of gravity to keep the straps visually taut, while also ensuring the skirt hem and sheer fabric wouldn't trap air in the water and lose their natural layering. The black-haired look with the pink rabbit-ear swimsuit features a bold side cut-out with strappy details, demanding precise physical control to find poses that flatter proportions without looking forced. Short hair was prone to sticking to the face with sweat, requiring frequent pauses for makeup touch-ups. In contrast, the blonde hair and blue tulle dress looked much lighter, but managing the long wig was very time-consuming; keeping stray hairs in place relied entirely on styling wax and regular water misting. The rainbow inflatable arch served as a fantastic foreground prop—subtly offsetting the angle leveraged perspective to visually elongate the legs. Because it was an open-air pool, harsh overhead sunlight created rigid shadows, necessitating reflectors and careful angle adjustments on set, while post-processing required unifying water ripple colors to prevent greens or blues from distorting skin tones. We also had to be constantly vigilant about not letting equipment get wet. In fact, cosplay themed around Water sports demands rigorous facial expression control, as buoyancy causes the body to tilt; you have to support yourself on the float, gaze into the camera, and maintain that characteristic playful charm of an Anime girl. We deliberately chose the contrasting color palette of bright pink and pale blue to emphasize the contrast between both characters—the cool elegance of black hair and the sweetness of blonde hair achieved a delightful color harmony against the blue pool backdrop. Post-processing focused mainly on natural facial retouching while preserving authentic skin texture, along with subtle liquefying adjustments to water ripples. With the scorching weather, constant hydration during breaks was essential to prevent heatstroke. Shooting this Poolside photoshoot was physically exhausting, but the final images turned out exceptionally clean, perfectly capturing the charm of these characters by the water in summer.
