This time, I shot a set of Komeiji Koishi cosplay with @灯火生姜大王, and it was truly a case of pure 'unconscious high productivity.' This outfit was borrowed from my friend @我乱乱的🐸, and the fabric texture and layered details are absolutely amazing, especially the tiered green ruffled skirt hem, the giant bonnet, and the wide sleeves. When walking around, it feels as if the wind is lifting it—lightweight yet with a touch of vintage weightiness.
Since Koishi, Satori Komeiji's younger sister, has a character setting that leans toward nature and mystery, we specifically chose this forest stream with mottled light and shadow as our location for this Forest photography session. When the sunlight filters through the leaves, it creates highly natural dapples on the clothes. The photographer's fill light was also perfectly in place, completely recreating the atmosphere of wandering unconsciously in the woods.
The biggest challenge during the shoot was actually maintaining that expressionless 'blank' sense of emptiness while keeping the movements agile. The large green eye prop in my hand is actually quite bulky; holding it up with one hand while posing in balance requires a bit of physical strength. However, I was so pleasantly surprised when the finished prints came out! Especially that dynamic snapshot standing on the wooden bridge—the flare of the skirt hem lifted just right, and combined with the staggered placement of the props, the whole frame looks like a snapshot frozen from a fairy tale picture book.
The final photo is a half-body close-up where the gauze fabric at the edge reveals a warm orange tint under the backlighting, forming a contrast of warm and cool, light and dark with the blue-purple flower accessories. This set counts as one of my most satisfying pieces of Touhou cosplay recently. Every seam and fold of the costume looks just right in front of the lens. In post-processing, I tried my best to preserve the ambient feel of the original photo without over-desaturating it, letting the natural greenery and light spots become the best backdrop.
