The marionette motifs in this Genshin Impact costume are distinct, mainly combining gold trim on a black base paired with a white overskirt. The fabric texture is a wonderful surprise—the corset cincher has great rigidity, which, paired with the geometric patterning, looks clean and crisp. The red inner lining of the skirt creates a striking visual contrast against the black, brightening the overall color palette. Getting dressed was more tedious than expected, requiring time to arrange the skirt hem and detached sleeves, but once properly fitted, the tailoring is excellent. The white gloves feel silky smooth, making it effortless to hold my phone for mirror selfies. The light blonde long wig has decent quality and is easier to groom than anticipated. The ruffled headband paired with the gothic dress truly captures that eerie puppet theater vibe.
While trying it on, I tested various poses before the mirror; this kind of outfit requires holding a somewhat stiff, poised carriage to bring out both the mechanical rigidity and elegant aristocracy of a Puppet Cosplay. The petticoat flares into a voluminous, beautifully layered silhouette, and when turning, the red inner hem fans out naturally. Right now this is just a preliminary fitting without makeup, so the character's full aura has not completely emerged, but the present result already lives up to my expectations. Compared to other garments in this price range, the detailing on this Manjiong cosplay costume is executed with notable care. This weekend, I plan to thoroughly style the wig, apply refined makeup, and find a suitable studio or outdoor location to bring out the authentic charm of this ensemble. For now, mindful of preserving the neat lines along the skirt hem, I kept my movements cautious during the fitting to avoid disrupting the corset's structure. That said, the waist tailoring flatters the waistline remarkably well, and the gloves offer great comfort without restricting arm movement.
