Doing Yuni (Goddess of Victory: Nikke) cosplay at the Shenzhen Loop Universe Anime and Game Carnival this time was truly an exciting yet exhausting day. When I got this gear, I was thinking about how to express Yuni's gap moe—her sweet appearance contrasted with her absolutely massive weapon. The white shirt paired with black glossy leather shorts and multiple belts, along with her iconic pink twintails and hair accessories, looked surprisingly amazing under the venue's purple-blue lighting. That oversized rocket launcher prop is seriously heavy. Carrying it on my shoulder or holding it with one hand both required adjusting my center of gravity; I practiced those poses holding the heavy weapons several times in the pictures just to find my balance. As for the whip, although I'm holding it in some photos, to be honest, I still prefer the sense of pressure from the cannon muzzle aiming straight at the lens.
During the shoot, working with the photographer @阳氿ge was super smooth. He caught the dynamic moments of my hair flying up, as well as variations of squatting and sitting poses, perfectly recreating the character's tsundere attitude and combat vibe. The reflections on the venue floor also helped a lot, and combined with the on-site ambient lights, I really love the color tone of this entire set of convention photos. I've always loved the character designs in Nikke. Yuni's uniform and tactical accessories have so many details, so I'm incredibly happy to be able to present them flawlessly this time. Though transporting and wearing the heavy weapons was hard work, seeing the final images makes it feel completely worth it. If I have the chance to go to another convention next time, maybe I can try different actions, like walking a runway while carrying the cannon, and I hope I can capture even more dynamic visuals then.
